Exterior Lighting Problems of Lincoln Navigator

When driving with automatic brights, occasionally when it automatically switches to dim, the dim lights will shine only about 10 feet in front of the car. When it does this, it shines so bright directly in front of the car, the brights won't come back on. It is also a very harsh demarcation so that it is completely dark beyond 10 feet and to the sides. You can shut the car off and back on and it corrects it. This happened on my way to work in the dark right before I hit standing water in the road under a narrow bridge. It nearly caused me to have an accident. The dealership fixed this issue once and recorded that they replaced some melted wiring and connectors. It is happening again and has been reported to the dealership and to Lincoln customer service.

The headlights will suddenly shut off. I have to turn the dial to make them come back on. We have replaced every bulb in the headlight assembly with oem recommended bulbs which are $75 a piece for the main headlight and this still happens. There is no cause we can find and I have read about other cases in my area. With the same year as my Navigator. I almost recieved a ticket until I showed the officer my lights work that they just keep doing this. The electrical issues on this year is ridiculous and I guess someone needs to die for Ford to fix it.

Recall number 25s08 for side mirror lighting, the disconnect remedy is unacceptable. These side lights provide safety measures for exiting and entering the vehicle. As older adults seeing the fold out step in the dark is necessary. If these lights are disconnected due to the recommended remedy from Ford then there is a fall hazard for owners who don't see well at night. The steps could be missed resulting in a fall. We request the lights be replaced or repaired not disconnected. Recall documents mailed from Ford/Lincoln to my address March and June 2025.

When the car starts the head lights run through a series of motion checks, they go left, right down and then back up. We run into an issue every few weeks where the headlights stay in the down position. This happened with our car and a loaner we received from the dealership. I do have video of the issue. That shows the lights stuck down, when you restart the car the lights run the motion checks and come back up as they should. When the lights stay in the down position they only illuminate about 30' in front of the car.

The camera with the water cleaner spray device, leaked water inside the led taillight, this is a hazard that can make a shortcut and damaged the tail light leds.

I purchased this vehicle 6 months ago and have had nothing but electrical issues since. The front Lincoln emblem and the rear driverside brake lights do not work. Also, the heated driver seat stopped working. I have read the lighting issue is common.

Cluster lamp in dash has digital display that is not visible in bright sun light. This makes any warnings not visible. Can be hazardous with out the door/tailgate symbols visible. When driving the display is not legible, it appears that the lamps are not lit, the surrounding lights illuminate the cluster at night.

Takata recall !!! I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator that has the same issue with the reverse lights same recall issue as the 2012 Navigator also the car when it's in park won't engage when the break pedal is applied to unlock the gearing to reverse nutural drive 1st and 2ed gear it won't huge safety with the reverse lights I almost had an accident because other drivers are not aware I'm reversing issue started two months ago and I stopped driving it because I almost get into accidents with out the reverse lights wonder if this is a common safety consent for a recall.

Started with the light in vechical staying on for hours at a time causing a loud noise under hood. While driving and picking up my girlfriend, we were scared by the sudden acceleration of my vechical. We hit another car causing our heads to hit the dash board. The car wouldn't stop so after we hit a car while on breaks, I through car in park and that just made car engine roar even louder causing engine to go into danger mood. Turned car off and started back up it was still roaring but then calm down to normal.

In direct sunlight the odometer/multifunction display is not readable. The display serves as an annunciator warning device for rear and side doors not closed properly. It is possible to drive with the rear door not secured and the warning to indicate this is not able to be read in the direct sunlight. Interestingly enough the display is brighter by turning on the lights on in the park lamp mode as opposed to the automatic mode. This seems to be a software resolvable issue.

While driving north on ar hwy 9 a few miles south of malvern, arkansas with my wife in the front passenger seat and my son in the second row directly behind me, a loud bang occurred. In the next moments I realized the side curtain air bags deployed on both sides of the vehicle, a smell like fireworks became immediately apparent, and the driver's side sun visor was destroyed and hanging down directly in front of me at an angle. I was able to maintain control of the vehicle and stay in my lane of the two-lane highway and slowed down. After shortly realizing what happened, I looked for a place to pull over, did so, and took my pocket knife and cut away the side curtain airbags to be able to see out of the side windows and continue our trip north. I found the driver's visor vanity mirror had shattered in pieces in my lap and on the floor, along with other parts from the visor which now hung down at a steep angle. Both the driver's side and passenger side front seat belts were damaged, and the driver's seat belt upper anchor would no longer stay locked in position, sagging to its lowest position by gravity. Later that day I discovered that the map lights and passenger side visor vanity mirror light no longer worked. I took the car to the local Ford dealer near where I was staying, who told me that it (air bag system) was no longer covered by warranty. I then made an appointment with my hometown dealer to further resolve the issue, and also instigated a case with the Lincoln customer relationship center to see if they would help.

Hid headlamp assembly. I have 2004 Lincoln Navigator and while my vehicle was under the manufacturers warranty they replaced the left hid assembly but they claimed it was not a recall. I am since out of the warranty and the rh assembly went out. Now my research indicates that the recall was only to years 2003 in the Navigator, but to 2006 in the expedition. The assembly is the same as the 2003 Navigator but the "2004" is not covered. Why?.

Consumer states after putting driver side window down the radio will cut off. Had vehicle serviced. This is a result of an electrical shortage. Dealership cannot fix problem,consumer afraid this shortage will cause a fire.
