The contact owns a 2018 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. The failure nearly caused a collision. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the dealer previously replaced the fuel pump; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v392000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

2006 Lincoln Navigator, 60,000 miles on car. Car shut down after giving an engine failed safety mode error on dash while on four lane busy highway traveling 40-45 mph. Coasted to side of road (no berm available). . . Waited 5 minutes. Restarted car and limped into gary yeoman Ford dealer. I was told the throttle control body & motor asy #3l3z*9e926*a was bad and was not covered under the extended warranty I purchased on the car in 2009. Repair bill was $900 out of pocket. Checked online and this is a known issue for Ford expeditions & Lincoln Navigator engines and yet Ford does nothing to fix. Does someone have to die to get Ford to repair these defective parts? nothing more dangerous than a car that shuts down in heavy traffic traveling at high speeds.

I am having continous problems with my 2006 Lincoln Navigator. For a vehicle of this quality, I never dream of so many problem. I had my suspension system fix last year at the dealer. 1 year has pass now it is gone out again. I had my catylist converter fix at the dearler about 2 years ago. 1 year later they are gone out agian. Now I am riding around with a bouncing Navigator and a sluggist running Navigator with plenty of fumes. I just don't have the funds for continous repairs for the same service. Do the mechanics know what they are doing? I am really frustrasted with this vehicle and the service I have recieved. Bouncing around in a 40,000 + vehicle is imbarrasing. Please help. I have to bum a ride at time. I have to travel , a lot and rent a car. This is getting old and expensive. The dealer want fix it because they say it is out of warranty, eventhough I have paid to have it fixed before. This is not costumer service. Help.
While driving my 2005 Lincoln Navigator the vehicle stopped in the middle of traffic without any warning. Eventually restarted the vehicle and took it to the dealer. The problem was a faulty throttle body assembly. We had to get the throttle body assembly replaced. The old part is not available.

I own a 2001 Lincoln Navigator with a 5. 4l engine. I was on my way to work and was going approx. 15 mph when I heard a bang coming from the front of the car. At first I thought I had hit something or something was falling off the car. I pulled over to the side of the road and at this time the engine started to run rough. I shut it off and checked under the hood but could not see anything wrong. I thought, after restarting the engine that it might be a bad spark plug. As I started off the car was still running bad so I decided to return home. The next day, 10/09/2010, I decided to check further and removed the three of the spark plugs on the drivers side, but the last one which is at the front of the engine I noticed the coil was all torn apart and the end of the coiled wire was sticking out from the plug hole. I pulled said wire out and saw the spark plug at the bottom of the hole. It appeared to have been blown out of its threads. Also to be noted is the smell of gas was very apparent and because the spark plug was damaged, the ground was forced against the electrode and was unable to spark. If it did, I'm sure the engine would have caught on fire. I also found two pieces of some unknown material that fell into the cylinder. The part appears to be a carbon material and might be part of the cop, coil over plug. After doing some research on the web, this appears to be a common problem with this type of Ford engines. I called the Lincoln dealer I bought the vehicle from and they said they have never heard of this problem. But they would get back to me if they can help. Further inquiry found that Ford recommends replacing the cylinder head when this problem occurs. This would cost approx. $3500. 00. As I have been unemployed for fifteen months, and finally found a part time job,(14 hours a week) this would be an expense I can not afford. The web sites did state that Ford is aware of this problem but will not admit to their poorly designed head.

2005 Navigator injector failed and ruined engine on June 17, 2008 with 53,000 miles driven. Car was billowing smoke, smelled strongly of gas, and stopped functioning as I was driving it. Ford took nearly a month to replace engine and replace injector. Picked car up on July 23, 2008. Roughly 3 weeks later,a second injector failed on August 22, 2008. Car was billowing smoke and failed and I had to pull over immediately. Car was towed to dealer. Picked up car today(Aug 28,2008) and I know it will fail again in the next 14-30 days because early indicators are rough idol and rough start, and car displayed both as I drove away from the dealer today. Called dealer-they said nothing comes up on test and Ford won't replace another injector until it fails. Unable to tow boat because of safety fears. If car fails while towing boat driver could most definitely loose control and have accident with 5000 lbs. Of boat behind. What I have is a 60,000 vehicle with 53,000 miles on it that is completely undependable and not suitable to tow anything until all injectors are replaced because of safety concerns. The process of driving the car as the injector fails is harrowing because the car literally stops functioning as it is moving, billows smoke and smells strongly of gas, leaving me shaking and fearing that it may blow up or catch fire. The only way Ford will replace an injector is if this exact thing occurs. It is just a matter of time before injury and damage occur. I urge you to do something about this before that happens.
While traveling on highway there is a loud knocking noise coming from underneath the vehicle, dealership is aware of problem, dealer check vehicle codes and found that low octane fuel was causing the noise while driving, both passenger door seals loose.
