My spare tire fell out from beneath my truck. The cable was split at the end. The small connector that is attached to the cable had separated from the end of the cable which also holds a metal pad in place. The pad allows the spare tire to be raised or lowered. All parts were retrieved, the spare tire, metal pad and connector. The spare tire hoist assembly was still operational, minus the parts that fell out.

While driving my 2005 Lincoln Navigator the vehicle stopped in the middle of traffic without any warning. Eventually restarted the vehicle and took it to the dealer. The problem was a faulty throttle body assembly. We had to get the throttle body assembly replaced. The old part is not available.

A popping sound came from beneath the hood of my 2003 Lincoln Navigator. After taking the car to my local Ford dealership service center, I learned that a spark plug ejected and damaged the cylinder head. The dealership is recommending a new engine for $7,5000 or replacing the cylinder head for $4,200. My vehicle is still covered by an extended warranty through ge capital. However, they refuse to repair the cylinder head (even though fully covered by the warranty) because the damage was caused by a spark plug, which is not covered.

2000 Lincoln Navigator, radio flashes on and off with vehicle off, and windshield wipers are not working, after vehicle has been sitting off for a couple hours, there is a loud noise coming from under the hood on the passenger side under the windshield, open the vehicle door and a/c is blowing full blast and radio is flashing on and off again smells like something is burning and caused a minor fire. Looked up recall information and Ford states that our vehicle is not listed under the recall# 01s24, although it shows our model year along with a majority of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. This is the same problem that happened with the 2000 Ford expedition NHTSA action# ea05015.
Shifter assembly breaks and makes it impossible to remove the key from the vehicle which could result in theft. Power liftgate will not work correctly which could cause it to close on top if you. Drivers side power running boards are faulty and become a trip hazard.

Without warning the vehicle stalled while the consumer was driving at an undetermined speed. The consumer contacted the dealer on four separate occasions and the problem still continued. When idling the vehicle made a pressure like noise that would get louder, the low oil indicator light would come on, the valves had a tapping sound that was abnormal, there was a metal scraping sound which as if the bottom was going to drop out, there were exhaust noises along with a popping sound, and there was continuous stalling. The consumer stated there was an ongoing dispute regarding the odometer reading. Also the brakes and door locked never worked.
While traveling on highway vehicle pulled to the left. Also, engine check light appeared on dashboard. Dealership was aware of problem.

Since purchasing the car in may 1999, I have had no working dash lights in the car starting at 22,000 miles. I have taken the car to Ford over 7 times with no fix, just a bulb replacement after the 50k warranty. The problem still exists, this problem makes the car very difficult to drive at night with no speed or fuel indicators. The chance of accident or death due to unsafe speed or running out of gas has been a constant problem with this car. I spent $46,000 for this car and it has been the worse experience in my life.
