general problems of the 1999 Lincoln Town Car

Three problems related to structure have been reported for the 1999 Lincoln Town Car. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Structure problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2007

Floor is soaked when rains or car is washed.

2 Structure problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2006

I have a 1999 Lincoln Town Car. The windshield adhesive has failed apparently from having been parked outdoors for 25 days. The windshield has slipped down about one half inch and it is leaking. It is loose enough that it vibrates when the door is closed. I searched for a recall and although there was none for the Lincoln windshield, I did see that the Ford windstar Mini van had a recall for using the incorrect urethane adhesive(campaign id number 00v020000). My Lincoln towncar was built at Ford's wixom plant where the windstar vans were built and near the same time.

3 Structure problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2003

When driving through a puddle, or even when parked in the rain, there is a water leak on front passenger floor that seems to come from up underneath and behind the glove compartment. This has been happening for over 3 years. And soaking the carpet more quickly than before. While we had no way of knowing, suspect the leak was there when we purchased. How do we find it?.
