1 Car Stall problem

The contact owns a 2004 Lincoln Town Car. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. He was able to pull over on the side of the road where the vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnosis. The dealer stated that they needed to replace the engine. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The failure and the current mileage was 41,000.

2 Car Stall problem

While driving about 65 mph the engine began to hesitate and finally stalled. Consumer inspected under the engine and smelled smoke. An individual stopped along the side of road where consumer was and noted he was from aaa. He took out the air filter which had smoldered and was slightly smoking. He poured water on it. The consumer drove home without the air filter in. That Monday morning went to a dealer and showed the service manager the air filter. Consumer left vehicle for repairs and four days later. Service manager noted that the air filter had picked up a foreign object, such as a cigarette butt. This would not be covered by warranty. Repairs were made, no problems so far.

3 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/01/1901

2004 Lincoln Town Car developed a knocking when the vehicle is first started. The dealer installed covers for the catalytic converters but this did not solve the problem.
