The driver then pressed the brake pedal, causing the vehicle to spin multiple times before crashing into a ditch. During the incident, no injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene, and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. Unintended/unexpected acceleration, even while brake pedal is pressed. Happens intermittently. Most scary time for me happened in publix parking lot at crosswalk for pedestrians. I thought I was going to hit the pedestrians. There are two drivers for this car and has happened to both of us. Just now, [xxx] around [xxx] it happened again when the other driver was driving out of subway parking lot near st. Johns river into right lane of 3 lanes of traffic near an intersection with a car tuning left right in front of us. Very scary and glad no collision. When applying the brake to slow down on an exit ramp, the car unexpectedly accelerated despite the brake pedal being pressed hard. The driver was able to avoid a collision with a stopped vehicle in front by shifting the gear into neutral. The engine revved up for a couple a seconds, but returned to a normal rate of revolution with the gear still in neutral and the car practically stopped.

The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Town Car. The contact stated that the driver side floor mat only had one hook that kept the floor mat secured to the carpet. The fluorinated would frequently become caught under the accelerator pedal, which the contact had to continue to release the fluorinated while driving. The dealer was contacted who stated the vehicle could be repaired but at the contacts expense. The contact believed the manufacturer should be responsible for the repairs. Lincoln 2007 Town Car why are these reports included in "interior systems"? they are clearly a safety issue that should be included under brakes and fuel system!! this model has the brake pedal and the fuel pedal connected together in a system that can raise or lower them together. . . It is probably this system that is at fault. In order to put in this feature it appears that they moved the gas pedal closer to the brake pedal and it is possible to apply both pedals together.

The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Town Car. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 to 45 mph down a ramp, he engaged the brakes and the vehicle abnormally accelerated. He continued to engage the brakes using both feet to avoid a potential crash. He was able to bring slow the vehicle down and drive onto an emergency lane. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer several times regarding the failure. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and referred him back to the dealer where a monitor equipped with a kill switch was installed on the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure did not persist and the monitor was removed from the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000 and the current mileage was 46,500.

The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Town Car signature. On three to four different occasions, the vehicle made a strange noise, bucked forward, and then accelerated when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact had to apply the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The dealer stated that when the coils misfire, the vehicle feels as if it will accelerate. However, the contact stated that the vehicle did accelerate and the dealer replaced the coils. The following day, the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. They could not find any failures with the vehicle. On another occasion, the failure occurred twice in the same day. The contact called the dealer and they stated that they inspected the vehicle and found no failures. She was informed by a representative to bring the vehicle back to them while the failure was occurring. The contact stated that two other 2007 Lincoln continentals she owned have experienced the same failures. The manufacturer has not been notified. The current mileage was 23,978 and failure mileage was approximately 22,000.

He was forced to depress the pedal as hard as possible to stop the vehicle. The stopping distance equaled the length of two vehicles. One week later, while pulling into a parking space, the vehicle surged forward again. The contact had to depress the brake pedal as hard as possible to stop the vehicle. My husband, julius hyman, the primary driver, has experienced this unattended acceleration approximately 6 times and fortunately he was able to remove the foot from the accelerator allowing the brake to function before an accident occurred. The contact drove a 2007 Lincoln Town Car, which was a company vehicle. While the vehicle was parked, the contact placed the vehicle into drive. The vehicle traveled four feet and then accelerated. He attempted to steer and apply the brakes, but the vehicle only accelerated more. The vehicle finally stopped after striking two poles and another vehicle. The other vehicle then struck three additional vehicles. The contact's vehicle spun around and was facing the rear of the vehicle that he struck. The instrument panel lights illuminated and a crushing sound was heard. The air bags never deployed until the vehicle stopped. The contact's vehicle and two other vehicles were destroyed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to his neck, right shoulder, lower back, both wrists, left hand, right pelvis, both knees, and right ankle. He also suffered from dizzy spells, was on medication, lost 40 lbs. , and is seeing a psychiatrist. The passenger in the rear seat sustained a bump to her head. The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Town Car presidential. The contact stated under normally road conditions, the vehicle accelerated from approximately 25 mph to 50 mph in the shopping center. He pressed the brakes fifteen times before the vehicle came to a stop, which caused a crash with another vehicle. The contact sustained back and neck injuries and is now disabled due to the incident. - the contacted called regarding the 2007 Lincoln continental. The driver was attempting to stop the vehicle when it accelerated forward , striking the vehicle in front of them. There was damage to the front bumper of the vehicle. There were no injuries. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed and being repaired at a local repair shop not a Ford dealer. The contact called the dealer, and was told that once the vehicle was repaired hey will have an investigators look at the vehicle. The contact stated the failure mileage was approximately 1500. 18 Vehicle Speed Control problem

2007 Lincoln Town Car acceleration. The consumers wife was approaching a traffic signal, when suddenly the engine revved extremely high as she was attempting to apply the brake to come to a normal stop. As the engine was out of control and the braking system was not sufficient to stop, she quickly placed the gear into neutral. After shifting to neutral, the brakes were sufficient with only a few inches to spare avoiding a serious collision. The vehicle continued running at a high rate during the wait.
