Upon putting the gear into reverse vehicle made a loud noise as if something was rubbing together. The tire rod broke, leaving the wheels turned outward. Vehicle never left the garage.

While driving passenger's side airbag deployed and injured passenger. Consumer stated that if it had been on driver's side, and consumer was on highway, consumer would have been knocked from steering wheel. That may have been a life threatening situation. Consumer took vehicle to dealer, and dealer stated that consumer ran over something on the road that triggered sensors for side airbag. Vehicle hit nothing. This was second Town Car that that consumer has experienced a life threatening situation. Vehicle pulls to the left. Trunk would not close properly due to it being out of adjustment.

Vehicle would pull to the right in bad wet weather conditions. When the pads were replaced vehicle would pull to the left at anytime. Dealer resolved the problem . Vehicle has been to the dealer 8 different times. Consumer also states very difficult to steer wheel and when aking turns there would be a noise from the front end. Also when pressing brakes radio makes a static sound, and when playing tapes there is also a squealing noise powre mirror switch sticks in the down position.

Front right and left tires wore out due to alignment problems. Yh.
The water leak is coming in from the windshield wiper motor assembly. I have talked with other 1997 Lincoln towncar owners and they all have the same problem. The water enters the car under the windshield wiper motor and runs down the firewall underneth the carpet and forms a pool of water underneth the carpet in the rear passenger compartment. The dealer tries to sell you an undercoating and does not guaratnee this will fix the problem.
While braking vehicle pulls forcefully to the left or right. Nlm.
Ongoing problem with vehicle wandering across road, and it became more severe at 70 mph or more. Vehicle been in dealer shop on two occasions, and informed consumer that nothing was wrong. The lights aimed too high die to head lamps misalignment.
At 1500 miles front end of vehicle felt like it was going to collapse or fall apart whenever hitting bumps or pot holes, it was very hard to keep control of vehicle when this happened. Consumer has contacted dealer. Dealer has made several attempts to correct problem, however problem still occurs, consumer is afraid to drive this vehicle.
Vehicle is unstable on the highway.
While driving vehicle experiences front end shimmy. Took to dealer 4 different times. Had tires/brakes changed.
While driving the vehicle began swerving across the road. Took the vehicle back to the dealer and they replaced the steering box. Then vehicle started doing it again, and they took it to the dealer, engineer told the consumer that it was his driving habits that was causing the vehicle to swerve. Dealer fixed the problem, but since then it has started again.
Vehicle veered out of control.
After 66 mph the car vibrates, took to dealer, couldn't find problem .
When driving at high speeds and hitting a small bump vehicle wanders over to next lane. Dealer has seen vehicle 4 or 5 times. But, problem still exists.
Front end out of alignment causing damage to all 4 tires.
Front end shimmied, making it difficult to steer and handle vehicle when driving at highway speeds, and on rough roads. Dealer has replaced idler arm . Also, consumer replaced tires and shocks, but defect still occurs. Cause is still unknown.
Intermittently while driving on slight incline or braking on any road condition vehicle will pull hard to left or right. Cause is unknown. Please provide further information.
The car will drift to the right or left. When the driver tries to steer straight, the vehicle goes to the extreme in that direction. Dealer cannot fix vehicle.
Would be driving at various speeds when vehicle would have a tendency to drift to left all the time. First vehicle was replaced with this new one. The vehicle continuously pull to left and the dealer could not correct it. The dealer replaced another vehicle for the customer.
