Failure Date: 05/30/2007

On busy interstate highway at highway speed, engine suddenly quit with no warning. Subsequent investigation by mechanic revealed failure of electric fuel pump in fuel tank. Removed and replaced electric fuel pump.

2 Fuel Pump problem of the 2004 Lincoln Town Car

Failure Date: 09/15/2005

The engine died/stalled. The first time it occurred was on September 15, 2005. The vehicle was towed to a dealership. They changed the fuel pump. It happened again on October 3. The contact was able to restart it, but it died again. He was able to restart it and slowly got it to the dealership. They replaced two fuel injectors, and two spark plugs. Afterwards they test drove the vehicle and the check engine light came on. They found the vacuum line had not been connected. The contact was concerned that the problem will reoccur. 3 Fuel Pump problem of the 1998 Lincoln Town Car

Failure Date: 08/22/2004

While driving, the vehicle stalled. The dealer stated the fuel pump was defective, and serviced it. There was no warning. The vehicle would also cut off when the vehicle was turning corners. There would be no power brakes and steering. When the vehicle was placed in park or neutral and the key was taken out, the vehicle would start immediately.

4 Fuel Pump problem of the 1999 Lincoln Town Car

Failure Date: 05/18/2003

The fuel pump on my 1999 Lincoln Town Car went out without warning. The vehicle has had numerous problems since purchase including but not limited fuel pump, digital display (speedometer, mileage, compass, temperature), passenger window power mechanism (window will not go up completely if lowered) and suspension problems. Current issue regards fuel pump. Total cost to repair include $403. 00 labor, $257. 49 parts (fuel pump), $25. 00 misc fees, $16. 72 tax, $215. 00 towing.

5 Fuel Pump problem of the 1997 Lincoln Town Car

Failure Date: 05/28/1999

An extremely strong mildew odor is coming from the air conditioning unit, causing passengers to become ill. Dealer states odor is due to coil which is too tight around air conditioner, preventing water to escape, and causing mildew odor. Emergency brake shoes were replaced. Brakes squeal, dealer has replaced front brake pads, resurfaced rotors, lubed caliper slides, replaced rear brake pads, machined rear rotors, however brakes still squeal. Both rear wheels were covered with gear lube. Drivers shoulder belt would not retract at times, dealer replaced seat belt. Noise and thimping felt in steering when making turns, dealer lubed stops. Left front window inoperable, dealer replaced window regulater. Front roof welt loose and broken, dealer replaced. Front door pull trim missing. Blend doors inoperable, will not blow air through defrost vent. Ash tray will not close. Ac/heater emits a musty/moldy odor, the odor not only permeates the passenger, but is also in the trunk,there is no condensation being released by the ac, many things along with the moisture purge module have been replaced and problem still persists, system has been sanitized several times, ac max button does not work. Motor goes on 45 minutes after vehicle is turned off, this blows through the front defroster and steams up the front windshield. Door handle is inoperable. Vinyl trim at top of console is loose. Engine stalled at stops when cold, dealer replaced maf and fuel pump.
