There was a loud pop after I got gas. My car wouldn't stay running. I couldn't figure out what was going on. My husband looked under the hood and the spark plug still attached to the ignition coil had popped out of the engine. All of the screws holding the ignition coils had backed out.

When braking to stop there was sudden acceleration that braking could not control resulting in hitting the rear of a stopped car in front of me. This has happened in the past with no warning. It usually happens when braking, but not always. I have had the car to a Ford dealership twice with this problem. They claim they can find nothing wrong with the car. I took it into them today after this incident. They would not even look at the car. Said that Ford had no bulletins on this and said that I was on mu own. I see online that there has been a class action lawsuit against Ford about this. This could be a life-threatening problem. What do I do?.
I was driving down a public street not even going the speed limit and I came to the stop light my car acted like it didn't wanna go I got it to a parking spot and it burst to a ball of flames I had no previous symptoms and the car was driving fine it had just gotten to halfway mark on my heat gauge. I think it may have been the plastic intake manifold melted maybe? any ways thought I would report that this is actually a very dangerous thing it almost burnt me alive going down the road and then almost burnt a business down and I'm hoping to get some sort of compensation because no one told me till just now. If I could get some info on who to call at Ford that'd be great.

The fuel rail assembly develops pinholes in it and gasoline fuel leaks on the manifold and engine and can start a car fire. The fuel rail assembly has failed on a lot of these cars. The fuel rail assembly fails on its own. There is no wear and tear on this ietm. Ford has not issued a recall for this safety issue.
Tl the contact owns a 1995 Lincoln Town Car. The contact noticed a pool of fluid under the vehicle while idling. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the brake lines were leaking fluid. While refueling the vehicle, there was an abnormal fuel odor. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign numbers: 98i001000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and 95v063000 (fuel system, gasoline) as possible causes of the failure due to similar failures. The failure mileage was 106,000.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the electronic valve in the fuel injector seized in the open position and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a 2003 Lincoln Town Car. The contact stated that there were strong fumes of fuel emitting inside and outside the vehicle. Also, the vehicle failed to start occasionally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who incorrectly replaced the fuel filter and did not secure the ring or cap, which caused a failure rather than a permanent remedy. The contact was traveling to another state and noticed a fuel leak. The vehicle would not start and was towed to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the repair was not correctly completed by the dealer. The vehicle was to be further inspected and diagnosed to determine what parts needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

After starting the car while parked, I stepped on the brake and put the car in drive, as soon as I put the car in drive the engine accelerated without me putting my foot on the gas pedal and I had to stand on the brake, the car jumped forward, I jammed the car into neutral and the engine still continued to accelerate to a high rpm, I had to shut the engine off to get it to stop accelerating. I had several children in the car and we almost hit the car parked in front of us. This is the fourth time in 4 months that this has happened. I took the car to the Ford dealership to be diagnosed the last time this happened, they found nothing! I pointed out the class action lawsuit for unintended acceleration problems for fords between the years 2002 and 2010 but they denied knowing anything about this problem and told me they would have to duplicate this problem before they would do anything about it. Obviously they could not duplicate this and I am now left with a dangerous car and Ford denies this is a problem.
This vehicle has suddenly violently accelerated on four different occasions during the last eleven months. The first incident occurred after tapping the brake pedal at a very slow speed and resulted in the car crashing into a barrier at a filling station in upstate new york. Subsequent episodes were halted by turning the ignition switch off while attempting to stop the car with the service brakes. There seems to be few common threads among the incidents. There are no warning indicators before or after the sudden unintended acceleration events. No history codes were ever recorded in the powertrain control module. The incidents always occurred while the vehicle was moving at a slow speed sometimes when tapping the brake pedal and other times while pressing the accelerator pedal. No floor mats were involved in any of the incidents and the driver definitely did not depress the wrong pedal or both pedals at the same time.

I was driving through a parking lot when I took my foot off the gas pedal and lightly stepped on the brake pedal. As soon as I touched the brake pedal the car accelerated to an uncontrollable speed in a parking lot and I stood on the brake pedal as hard as I could but the car kept accellerating across the parking lot. I had to jam the gear into neutral to keep the car from continuing to accelerate and the rpm's of the engine continued to accelerate until I turned off the engine. Fortunately I did not hit anything in the parking lot and no one was injured. This is the second time this has happened in two weeks in exactly the same way.
While testing my car for trouble tester indicated fuel fired heater disabled. Uncertain what fuel fired heater is or it`s capacity. I am 78 years old and uncertain if vehicle is safe to drive. What should my next move be ???.
While exiting a parking facility cars were doing an alternate merge into a single lane. It was slow stop and go and I was waiting my turn with my foot on the brake. All of a sudden my car accelerated aggressively and I slammed on the brakes and put it in park. I used just less than a car length to stop the car after it lurched froward. I noticed that the tachometer momentarily exceeded 4000 rpm. This would have been an accident except for fortuitous timing. I allowed the car to my left space to merge and there was about a car length of space available which the other car had not entered yet. That space gave me the margin to get the car stopped without hitting a car in front of me.
I purchased a obdii/eobd tester and while testing my car it gave me this message, (fuel fired heater disabled). Is this a serious problem/danger if I drive my vehicle. I am 78 years old and never heard of a fuel fired heater.

why are these reports included in "interior systems"? they are clearly a safety issue that should be included under brakes and fuel system!! this model has the brake pedal and the fuel pedal connected together in a system that can raise or lower them together. . . It is probably this system that is at fault. In order to put in this feature it appears that they moved the gas pedal closer to the brake pedal and it is possible to apply both pedals together.
