Defective chromed wheels on the Town Car which causes excessive pressure loss. The chrome is flaking at the bead area and is exaggerated by long distance driving. Had to have tires dismounted and re-sealed; left front twice (once by dealer) and right front at sam's club. This started 2 months after purchase. New may 2004 and
I have continued to add air during trips.

: the contact stated the front passenger tire lost air pressure. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the rim was found to be welded on the inside. The spot weld appeared to be the cause of the loss of air pressure. The local dealer recommended making an appointment with the dealer where the vehicle was purchased for repair.
I noticed a tire going down on my wife's 1999 Lincoln Town Car. When she took it in for repair, they found nothing wrong with the tire. However, the wheel had a crack across the bead ( not due to damage ). I had to order a remanufactured wheel at a cost of $155. I had to trade the old wheel in. Obviously, it could have been very dangerous. Not sure of the exact date, app. 1 yr. Ago. ("vehicle type" box below would only offer "incomplete vehicle" as an option. This is not an incomplete vehicle. The only way I could proceed was to choose "incomplete").

The chrome plate on the left front rim chipped, causing the air in the tire to leak. Dealer replaced the left front wheel. No air pressure loss was evident until a sudden loss from 32 psi to 15 psi experienced. The dealer removed the tire and revealed a failed area about 2 1/2 inch long by 1/2 wide. The chrome plate appeared to be a bend failure to the wheel. There was sometimes a loss of 15 psi to 15 minutes sometimes a loss of 15 psi overnight.
