Side/window Air Bag problems of the 1998 Mazda 626

Three problems related to side/window air bag have been reported for the 1998 Mazda 626. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2003

While traveling about 35mph on the highway and without prior warning. Another vehicle made a sudden stop causing the consumer to hit her from behind. Upon impact, driver's side air bag didn't deploy.

2 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2000

Both driver and passenger side air bags deployed without any apparent cause, violent condition of deployment caused injuries to consumers face and chest area. Yh.

3 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/17/1999

While driving at 65 mph driver's side and passenger's side air bags deployed for no reason. Consumer had to pull over to the side of the road due to air bag deployment.
