Two problems related to tire tread/belt have been reported for the 1998 Mazda B2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Pe00020; while driving approximately 60 mph rear passenger's side tiretread had separated. Firestone, wilderness ht tires, p225/70r15. Tire was purchased with vehicle. Vehicle is Mazda truck, B2500 1998. Driver's side rear tire is also experiencing splitting. The tire is defective. The tread separated and ripped. There is split on the left rear also.
Pe00-020; firestone wilderness ht, original tires for 1998 Mazda, b2000, 36,000 miles. Driving at approximately 40 mph and left front tire tread came flying off, causing a loss of control. Seconds prior to incident, consumer felt a slight wobble in the steering.
