Car Stall problems of the 1999 Mazda B3000

One problem related to car stall has been reported for the 1999 Mazda B3000. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Car Stall problem

This complaint is in reference to sb615642 (engine ping). I had this problem from the first day that I drove my truck off the lot. I took the vehicle back to the dealer on several occasions only to be told each time that they either could'nt duplicate the discrepancy or blamed it on the gas I was using. I finally got tired of the run around and took matters into my own hands. What I found was that, according to my service manual, the factory had installed the wrong type spark plugs. The factory had installed "platinum" type plugs on one side of the engine and "regular" plugs on the other side. I cross referenced the platinum plugs and found that they were intended for a 4. 0 liter engine. I have no idea what the regular plugs were intended for. Probably left overs from Ford's pinto assembly line. Anyway, armed with this evidence, I returned to the dealer and demanded that the correct spark plugs for my truck be installed. After first accusing me of tampering with the vehicle they relented and installed the correct spark plugs. That was a week ago and the engine has been running fine since. I'm bringing this issue to your attention because I believe this to be a prevelant problem (if internet message boards are any indication) to owners of Mazda B3000's and Ford rangers. Both with the 3. 0 liter engines. Thank you.
