Two problems related to tire have been reported for the 1998 Mazda B4000. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tread completely separated from tire casing, damaging fender area in the process. Vehicle became very difficult to control but I was able to come to a stop without hitting anything. Tire still had air in it but was completely minus the tread. Tires has been checked recently and were found to be free of defects and correctly inflated. The failed tire showed no signs of external diress and was still inflated to 32 pounds. ( dot number: unknown tire size: p225/70r15 ).
Front tires began cupping after four or five months. All tires cupped after rotation. Very heavy vibration and "thumping" of vehicle. Dealer blamed tires. Firestone blamed front suspension of Mazda/Ford trucks. Neither would take responsibility. (dot number: w2uu1p0078 tiresize: p225/70r15).
