Driving on highway, cruise control ser to 82, no cars in front. The car suddenly jolted twice, engine light and battery light comes, lost of power. Pulled over to shoulder in the middle of nowhere in nevada. Tried to start the car, engine won't turn on, starter just kept cycling. Veh temp was just below 210 with a 1/4 tank of gas. Called dealership and service person asked is to use key to turn on car, no change and provided no other solution other than to take to dealership with the closest one being over 300 miles away. We decided to unhook and rebook the positive side of battery. Car restarted and currently driving it home as I write this complaint. 600 miles overdue for maintenance (by date due on July 26, 2021) and was scheduled upon return from trip which at the time should be approx 1000 miles over due.
The touchscreen randomly turns off, has “ghosting” where the touchscreen will do things on its own. Doing research I found this is a known issue with Mazda touchscreens and had a recall for 2013-2016 models. 2017+ models experience the same issues. This seems like a safety issue as many of the safety options and toggles are within the infotainment center.
I was driving on the freeway about 65 miles per hour and the the car started to run rough and the dash lights went out. It felt like it wanted to stall so I kept my foot on the gas and brake and exited the freeway and drove the side streets home. The problem did not happen again so far.
It was 17 degrees out and the front windows would not roll down. They were not locked. When it got it into my warm garage and I let it warm up (not running) for 15 minutes, they rolled down. I have had the car a month and this is the coldest its been since I've had it. I was at a drive thru in park when they would not roll down.
Significant safety issue--the entire middle screen goes blank, all access to apple car play stops, including navigation, phone, text, etc. The phone goes blank. Must pull over and the head unit will restart. Twice at dealer for same issues. They have replaced parts, but still same problem.
Significant safety issue--the entire dash and middle screen goes black, all music stops playing, the apple care play doesn't work, attached iphone sometimes goes blank. Must pull over and restart the vehicle. Previously at Mazda of orem (utah) for recall and this same issue. Returned today--9/1 8/19, dealer no idea why screens shutting off. Happens without notice of provocation. Significant safety issue,.
