Tire Problems of Mazda CX-5

The tires have lost tire pressure very often. The tires have gotten completely flat 2 times already and I’ve had to call my insurance. The tires are only 6 months old and have been flat 2nd already. 225/55r19 99v bsw all-season tire.

My daughter was driving on the freeway at 75-80mph on the morning of April 19th, 2025. The rear passenger tire blew out without any prior symptoms or warnings. Surrounding cars slowed down, or got out of the way because the other drivers saw her struggles to maintain her lane and direct the car to the shoulder of the freeway. Aaa was called to change the tire to the safety spare. The tire remains with us, and the NHTSA is the initial entity that I am filing a report to.

I purchased a brand new 2023 Mazda Cx-5 on December 2022 from daytona Mazda. The car has been great up until 34,310 miles when I noticed vibration in the steering wheel. I take the car to sport Mazda north in longwood FL. They checked the brakes and rotors and tires. My brakes and rotors are fine. They stated my tires have cupping. They suggested a wheel balance to slow down the cupping process and they suggested and alignment as well. But that I would need to replace the tires if I wanted that cupping to be gone. I buy new tires and have them installed by pep boys because I was tired it the vibration. I have them check the alignment while I was there and the alignment came out great with all the numbers in the green. The tires still had 7/32nd left on the tires so that’s about 70% of tread left. The dealership downer warranty the tires and yokohama won’t warranty them. They stated I needed to send the tires back. I let the rep know that ok so you wanted me to risk my safety to send those tires back to you to examine them. I let the rep know that I don’t have those tires as I had new tires put on on 04/13. I am trying to get compensated for the new tires I had to buy because of a premature issue with the oem tires.

A low tire pressure indicator light warning /beep came on the display panel. Soon after, while driving on a busy street, the driver's side front tire suddenly went completely flat all the way to the rim, causing a safety issue. There was no nail or other foreign object in the tire, just very worn out tread. With only 28,346 miles, all four yokohama geolandar g 91a p225/65 r17 100h tires have worn tread with the two front tires the worst. I had the two front tires replaced with advanta 225/65 r17 102h because I didn't want the same yokohama geolandar low quality tires. I didn't have at the time, and still don't have the funds to replace the two rear tires, even though the rear tires are losing pressure the same way, which I'm keeping watch on, as the indicator warning doesn't seem to alert me until it is at a critical level. I'm asking for a refund of the two front tires replaced and replacement of the two back tires. Thank-you.

P225/55r19 99v: on November 2, 2021, I was slowing down at a stop light. I was about 5 minutes away when my tire separated. I heard my car make a big sound and drop to the ground on the front passenger side. I lost control and hit the side of the curb, but I was able to pull my car over to a side road safely. It took over 3 hours for the tow truck driver to come, but when he did, he said he hasn’t seen one like this in a while, but it is a defective tire. The middle of the tire was a clean separation from the sides. If it was a tire blow-out the sides of the tire would be uneven, but this was as if the glue that held it together was loose, and the middle just fell out. The tow person tried to take the spare tire and he found that it was incorrect. My car a had 25,000 miles and I bought it new from the dealership and they made the mistake of giving me the wrong tire. Mazda corporation later had to replace it. Mazda dealership told me to contact customer service to discuss the tire. I emailed customer service several times and it took nearly 2 months for them to answer. I called several times, and I would wait on hold and they would hang up. When I finally got someone on the phone, she told me that Mazda warranty does not cover the tires. That is completely in the hands of the tire manufacturer. I contacted toyo tires and waiting a month for a response, I was contacted by a customer service. He mentioned that photos and videos were not enough, but that I had to send the tire back. I mentioned that Mazda did not tell me to keep the tire and when they replaced it, they disposed of it. I received a letter stating that there is nothing they can do. My car is a 2019 Cx-5 and in the same year the cx9 was recalled for tire separation issues from the same company. I am extremely frustrated how Mazda and toyo has handled this entire issue.

P225/65r17 geolandar g91a 100h tire was loosing air with 12k miles. Mazda service dealer claimed many punctures due to driving in nyc but car was sold in nyc. (3) nails located in very soft rubber and tire failed at 15k miles casing emergency situation. (3) others tire have no single issue. After getting new tire and after removing damaged tire following picture is in side the bad tire: many layers of rubber chipping off the tire. Please investigate this tire and after searching internet for this tire I realized that something is going wrong with this tire type.
