Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 Mazda Cx-7. The contact stated that the vehicle lacked stability when being operated at high speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the lower control arms and ball joints were defective and needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 17v429000 (air bags) and 16v593000 (suspension). The contact was unable to get the remedy completed due to lack of communication by the dealer (dennis dillon Mazda, 9501 w fairview Ave, boise, id). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The failure mileage was 157,142. Parts distribution disconnect.
We received the recall notice in August 2016 and no remedy has been made. This is ridiculous. Ball joints and lower control arms are replaced everyday - what's the dam hold up? I called the hotline twice today and was disconnected after being on hold. I guess I have to get my attorney involved with Mazda and ngtsa.
The contact owns a 2009 Mazda Cx-7. While driving, the vehicle veered to the left, which caused the tires to wear down. The vehicle was taken a local dealer (ray brandt Mazda located at 1884 westbank expy harvey, la 70058) where it was diagnosed that the lower control arm needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure, but the automated system directed the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 34,421.
The contact owns a 2009 Mazda Cx-7. While driving approximately 10 mph, the front passenger side suspension failed and caused the front passenger wheel to separate from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the lower control arm fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 78,000.
We were notified on the lower control arm recall in September. It's ridiculous that the replacement parts have not been made available. Why is Mazda dragging their feet on a safety issue like this.
