1 Body problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 03/14/2020

We bought the vehicle used from a car dealership called heavy foot motors in san antonio TX. The very next day, the vehicle started smoking from the hood, exhaust, and smoke came through the air vents. My wife going about 5-10mph while making a turn in a residential neighborhood when the smoking started. We towed the vehicle to the dealership and explained what happened. Their mechanic took the vehicle and had it for three weeks. I picked the vehicle up and made it maybe 5 minutes down the road, and the vehicle did the same thing. So I had the vehicle towed back to the dealership again and it is currently there as of 4/4/2020. My safety concern is that there is smoke coming out of the engine, exhaust, as well as through the ac vent and going into the vehicle. Also, when I went to install my children's seat belt we realized the back seats seat belts do not lock to secure a carseat. That is a major safety concern for me. Also, upon purchase I realize there was no driver side door handle. We agreed in purchase contract that the dealership would put one on if I purchased it. I just found it strange how you could sell a car from a dealership without a driver side door handle. That is a huge safety concern incase something were to happen and that was the only door to open from the outside. I also realize now that the trunk does not open, the door will not open. I will be getting a copy of their mechanic's report where he stated that it is his professional opinion that the vehicle was sold in this condition. I have requested a refund which initially,( verbally) I was told we would get if it in fact was sold in that manner but now they have backed out of that.

2 Body problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 07/05/2019

takata recall it seems after having my car for 4 months I ran into issues. I was driving on a residential street when my car started making a strange whining noise and small plumes or white smoke began to come from the hood, near the pulley systems. I drove home approximately 4 miles away . I went to start it the next day and it won't start it seems to be the alternator.

3 Body problem of the 2011 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 10/09/2018

Automatic door lock system locked all doors and would not release. There is no mechanical over ride and the drive was trapped in the car. After attempting release multiple times the lock released and the driver could exit by climbing over the center console and exiting the passenger door. When outside the car and attempting to unlock it the door handle fell off. If this had been an emergency or a car fire the driver would have died. This isn't the first time this happened to a Mazda cx7 because there is a utube procedure to fix the problem. Mazda needs to recall these vehicles and fix the problem with a mechanical over ride procedure. I don't know if the cx5 and cx9 have the same problem but my guess is yes. The vehicle was stopped in store parking lot. The vehicle had not been in ab accident.

Takata recall and horn and passenger door lock. I took my car in for thesuspention recall and air bags to galpin in van nuys CA. I got the car back and the suspention was done but not the passenger air bag. The reason from the Mazda service mgr eas since my passenger door is broken ( the lock) he could not open the door so he did not work on the air bag. I can not afford tge 200. 00 that it will take to fix and replace my passenger door lock. I feel that I should have my door fixed by Mazda and then do the repair work on the recalled air bag. The door lock just vroke on its own and I paid cash for my car brand bew from galpin. Also I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden my Mazda emblem in the center of the steering wheel blew ioff and landed in NY lap!! I eas not using the horn. I now have no horn and have looked at the fuse and everything else and no one seems to kniw what happen here. You can see that nmy Mazda emblem is boken all the way around this piece?? someobe said that since tere is an air bag in the steering wheel ineed to buy a new steering wheel? really? I am a senior on my social security retirement . . I am not able to have tgese problems fixed at hubdred an hundeds if dollars. However if my air bag has a recall and they didn't fix it since my door lick is brojen and tgey couldn't open the door. I immediately looked for any foreign debris but there was none. I drove home and called the car dealer (holiday in fond du lac WI). 17 Body problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 10/20/2012

We were driving 65mph on the I-15 freeway in centerville utah and the sunroof exploded with tremendous force, the sunroof was closed and we were not near an over pass, glass shot into the car and luckily no one was injured, if there would have been some one in the back seat they would have been blasted with glass. There was broken glass from the front floor area to the rear cargo area with most of it in the back seat. After inspection it was clear that the glass that remained was lifted upward away from the roof. We searched on the web and this has happened to a good many people with the same description that the glass exploded outward with many pieces blasted into the car. There was no sign of an object hitting the sun roof.

19 Body problem of the 2010 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 01/13/2010

New headrests since 2010 are terrible. My neck constantly hurts because I like to sit against the back of my seat, and my head is pushed forward at an angle no matter how I try to adjust the headrests in my cx7. These "safety" regulations are causing me pain and permanent neck issues. These safety regulations need to be revised.
