general problems of the 2007 Mazda MAZDA3 - part 2

While driving my 2007 Mazda 3 the power steering went out. I called the 1-800 number but they said that my car was not under the recall. I think it's too big of a coincidence for this to happen to my car also and not be under the recall.

I have a 2007 Mazda3 and the following happens without warning: I lose power-steering assist, the headlights go off, the dashboard resets, and either a fan or motor wears down. After a short stutter it all comes back without restarting the vehicle. Once the power steering assist remained off until the vehicle was turned off while fueling.

Vehicle was travelling along on 30 mph road with 'stop' sign ahead. As vehicle slowed down to about 15 mph, transmission started to shake, several warning lights came on and off, including oil and power steering, rpm fell very close to 0 (zero) and car died. Vehicle was able to stop at the 'stop' sign. Even though the vehicle was still on, any pressure on the gas pedal did not provide power or input to the transmission, now in 1st gear, to move the car. Car needed to be completely turned off and then turned on before it could move again. This issue has been ongoing for 4 years regardless of speed. The car has also decided to stop providing power while in motion while in moving traffic or on the highway, which could have resulted in multiple car crashes or worse. Mazda refuses to aknoledge that anything is wrong with the car since they "cannot replicate the problem". This issue is sporadic and occurs regardless of speed (usually around 30 mpg or less), weather, distance travelled, amount of time car has been in consistent use, etc. Mazda has even hooked this car up to their computer system and no error code has been found. This issue has been extensiely documented with our local Mazda dealer and paperwork is available for review. This car has been a true lemon since we bought it. It only has roughly 55k miles on it.

Power steering goes out without warning. I was driving in stop and go traffic on a hot day when the power steering just quit. I drove for a distance without the power. When I came to a stop I shut off my car and restarted right away and the power steering came back on. It's OH happened once in three years.

I am the owner of a 2007 Mazda 3 . Several days ago, while my 18 year old daughter was driving it, the car lost power, locking the steering (while she was on a curve), and she left the road, hitting a tree, and totaling the car. She was not hurt.

2007 Mazda323 lost control and hit a barrier wall. The police report stated the vehicle had a flat left front tire and steering mechanism damage that caused the consumer to lose control of the vehicle.

In December 2007 my 2007 Mazda 3 5 door lost steering control and I slid into a telephone pole. Mazda of greatneck would not take my complaint seriously. As I was making a right turn I felt that the steering wheel became extremely loose and would not respond to my turning the wheel.

I heard of a power steering issue recall and would like to note there is a problem with my 2007 Mazda 3 manufactured in Feb 2007 - which is prior to the recall dates. When the engine is off or stalled the power steering turns off. This has not yet caused a problem, but the steering should remain active until the vehicle speed reaches zero, not just when the engine is running. I fear many people will not notice this until their vehicle is old and stalls unexpectedly - which will disable power steering and could result in a loss of control.

This is a totally fictitious complaint that is unsubstantiated by any fact.
