The contact owns a 2007 Mazda 5. While driving approximately 62 mph with the cruise control activated, the brake pedal failed to operate. The contact applied the emergency brake, pulled the clutch, and the cruise control was deactivated in order for the vehicle to brake. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.
