| Air Bag Light On problems |
I was backing up from a parking slot in a neighborhood shopping center, when the air bag on the steering wheel just exploded, and I was pinned to my seat. I pushed on the bag and it started to deflate. My seatbelt which had locked me into the seat, moved enough to allow me to dislodge it. When I got out of the vehicle and inspected the car. The only thing I found was a scape mark underneath the center of the front bumper. Located in the parking slot was a concrete barrier situated in the front of the parking slot. The barrier is discribed as being five(5) foot long by four(4)inches high and five (5) inches wide. As I was backing out I did not feel any friction, vibration or hear any noise.
The air bag light on control panel is flashing when I start the engine after a working day. No rhyme or reason at all. There is no any impaction from outside and/or going over bumpers. It comes in and out in the first day and two, and then it's stayed on and flashed the code 19, which according to the manual means restraint control module - memory full. So I took it to Mazda dealership and diagnosed the issue at my expense. According to the dealer report, they cannot reset the computer module such as clean memory; instead, I am asked to replace the clock spring for fix the driver side air bag. However, in the meantime, all the controls on the steering are working perfectly, horn/cruse control/ volume control for the stereo.
