Engine And Engine Cooling Problems of Mazda MAZDA5

The Mazda 5 was in a minor collision. The vehicle rear-ended another vehicle in stop-and-go traffic. Both vehicles were in motion, approximate speed of the Mazda 5 was 15mph or less. The front seat airbags deployed. The other vehicle had rear bumper damage but the Mazda 5 immediately had smoke and flames under the hood. Thankfully, all four occupants immediately exited the vehicle to safety. The Mazda 5 quickly burned completely. Police and firefighters came to the scene and everyone agreed that the Mazda 5 fire was not commensurate with the extent of the collision and likely speed of impact. I am concerned there was a major safety defect that caused it to be engulfed in flames.

On several occasions, most of which happened while in motion, my vehicle has stalled out of the blue with no warning. It seems to mostly happen when I’m slowing down or when I’m making a right hand turn and try to accelerate, suddenly there’s no power to the engine. I have to put the vehicle into park and restart it. Twice while slowing down for a red light. Twice immediately after making a right handed turn, and once, when entering roundabout, after yielding. This is happened at least five times. The most recent incident occurring in August 2023.

My check engine light came on. We took it to a mechanic who hooked it up to the computer. It read dtc p2096. When the mechanic looked it up, he noticed that there was a recall issued previously on this specific problem. The description said target ef feedback system to lean- manual and automatic transmission. When plugging in my VIN number it said it was not affected. But my question is if I'm having the same problem and it affected the same year that my vehicle was made, why is my vehicle not on that recall list?.

The tcm failed on the car and it is a very common thing. The design set the module in a location that overheats and malfunctions when connection is lost with mechanisms that warp under heat, the cost to repair at the dealership was extremely expensive.

I own a 2014 Mazda 5. After two years of ownership. The number 1 and 4 cylinder rod bearings failed completely. It happened while the car was in motion. Proper oil changes was maintained during this period. They took the motor apart found clean oil, and shavings.

The contact owns a 2014 Mazda 5. While driving various speeds, the engine revved at a high rate as if the vehicle would take off. The failure occurred while the vehicle was parked and the engine was warmed up. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Random intermittent stalling of the car starting about 100,000 miles. Car suddenly shuts down while driving, most notably while decelerating but sometimes while cruising along. It actually surged and bucked once recently, (Dec 2021 ~ 180,000 miles), while pulling up to a stop. This is causing me to feel increasingly unsafe in this vehicle as it could cause an accident since I have no control whatsoever during these occurrences. Very frightening and risky. Have feared for my life a couple times given the particular timing of the occurrence.

After repeatedly going to various mechanics to get a diagnosis throughout the years, they were all unsuccessful to find any report through the vehicle's computer. However, my car's engine is constantly revved up even when applying the brakes an slowing down causing it to jerk forward. This occurs suddenly and randomly when I am going at speeds below 20 mph including while on idle. If I neither apply the brakes nor the accelerator, it will still drive forward at 3 mph in rhythmic jerky waves. We took the vehicle to the local Mazda dealer for a key replacement when we first purchased it, and I believe we reported the problem there first, but after the ridiculous service we got, I never wanted to return there again. This has been an ongoing issue since the beginning.

I am pressing charges against the Mazda company for failing to correctly diagnose my car when I sent it to be repaired and for causing damage to my engine by telling me it was ready to be driven again. I am also pressing charges against Mazda for putting used tires on my new car, making it unsafe to drive. My story is very long. I have many documents I can submit to be used against them. Please give me the case number and a way I can submit my documents.

I was looking in nadaguides if found a report of a problem with damping noise in front suspension and I found a recall campaing 05v412000, and I will like to know if this car was ispected because I bought the car three months ago in a dealer in puerto rico. Other information I will like to know is if the Mazda 5 presents problems with the front suspension, shocks absorber or other parts related. My anticipated thanks for your help.

1. Event leading up to failure: engine light on. Brought in to Mazda 5 for service. Engine mount appears to have broken. Believe weight of engine on temperature sensor and vibration related to engine mount resulted in breakage of temperature sensor. 2.
