Sentury touring (discount tire) 205/55/r16. Both front tires have inner wear to the point of shredding in the same location on *both* front tires. Both tires went out at the same time and could have caused a serious accident. Discount tire stated it was an alignment issue. The alignment shop (30 minutes after new tires were installed after dual blowout) stated that my alignment was perfectly within spec and also stated there was no indication of tire rub on any portion of the vehicle.

Tires: the 2012 Mazda 5 gt standard tires have developed major side wall buddle/blisters on the toyo proxes a18 205/50/r17 on two separate tires with only 12,000 miles. Mazda and toyo replaced the first one and declined to replace the second one. I replaced all 4 tires for the safety of my family and others on the road.
2012 Mazda5. Brought the car to the dealer, told them about the vibration and thumping noise coming from the brakes / tires. They said the tires balances fine and could not find any issues. Driving down the highway, at 70 mph. Had to hit the brakes hard, had a terrible vibration from the hitting the brakes/tires. I had the tires look into at 18,000 miles, they said no problem, then at 22,000, cant find any issues, they said that these tires wear fast and that's the way the low profile tires are, now I will take it in at 25,000 miles and see what they say, tread wear is terrible, at 18,000 miles it was down to 5/32 tread. I know that there is some type of belt separation in the tires, traction is also terrible in the snow and rain, tires are toyo proxes a18.

I am filing a complaint against flow Mazda of fayetteville nc because of their customer service manager failing to provide dealer warranty information and/or tire manufacturer warranty information at time of purchase of 3 tires on 23 Feb 2013 1420 est. As a result I just found out yesterday July 31, 2014 after 0920 hrs. Est that due to not following "owners obligations" it was my fault for a really vague term - "lack of maintenance". I also attempted to file an official complaint with mr. Matt coleman of flow Mazda unfortunately he did not write anything down and he told me it will be stored in his head.

Auto has had to have complete set of tires because of premature wearing on outer edge of tires after only 32,000 miles. New tires are already showing signs of premature wearing even though they are being aligned and rotated regularly at only 52,000 miles.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Mazda, Mazda5 equipped with yokohama avid envigor tires (na), tire size 205/50/17. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact encountered a pothole and a loud bang sounded outside of the vehicle. The steering wheel began to vibrate. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road and towed to an authorized dealer where they informed the front and rear passenger side tires exhibited substantial tread separation and caused the tires to completely deflate. As a result of the failure there was excessive damage to both wheel rims. The technician replaced the rear and passenger side tires and both rims. The manufacturer was not made aware of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 43,684. The dot number and VIN was unavailable. Js.

Just took ownership of a 2006 Mazda5 touring from my brother-in-law. He just replaced the tires recently due to excessive tire wear on the inside wall. If you look from the back of the car, the tires are tilted in at the top. Tire store says according to Mazda, the alignment are in spec. I checked the forums and found multiple owners with the same problem and to fix it, they have to install an aftermarket camber kit. There is a negative camber issue on these cars. I don't want to ruin these new tires as they are expensive. Why does Mazda not realize this as a safety issue? there should be a recall to fix this instead of having the owners spend money to fix it on their own. Can you get Mazda to put out a recall???.
At about 30,000 miles, I noticed considerable vibration and a thumping noise, particularly prominent in the right front quadrant. When the dealership checked the problem it was diagnosed as uneven tire wear on the front tires and I purchased two new tires and had an alignment performed. The problem recurred within 10,000 miles, after the next service. Once again the diagnosis was uneven tire wear, this time on the set of tires which had not been replaced. The dealer indicated that they needed to be replaced as they were a safety risk. Additionally the dealer indicated that the Mazda 5 was hard on its rear tires (from which these had been rotated at the last service). A quick review of a variety of forums would indicate that this is a problem that others have experienced and that, in addition to the poor quality toyo tires which are original equipment, weak alloy wheels may also play a role.
I have had my 2006 Mazda 5 touring for approximately 3. 5 years. This will be the 4 set of tires I have had to replace due to inside wear.
Need to replace the tires again. 5th time since owning the car. When is Mazda going to do something about it.
1. Purchase vehicle used in 2009 with 170,000 kms 2. Since day one, have had issues with door latches / lock and unlock - happens on random occassions and especially in cold/ wet or humid conditions. On several occassions I have been unable to lock / unlock the rear passenger doors using the keyfob or the interior vehicle switches, (I have to unlock/lock the rear vehicle doors manually). 2. Today for the first time, the rear passenger door flew open (while driving) as it did not latched closed. The right side rear sliding door still will not latch closed. . . . . . Thought it was frozen, but dealer says no - not frozen - it's a faulty part / switch causing issue. 3. Asked dealer about recall info - they told me that the recall service for that door latch problem has already been performed on my vehicle by the previous owner. . . . . Therefore, this issue will be my problem to pay for (out of warranty). 3. Intermitent electrical issues with this vehicle. Dashboard lights flicker at times. Gas door pops open for no reason, and at time will not stay closed or will not open. 4. Uneven tire wear. Have owned the vehicle for 9 months and the tires are already bald on the insides only. Vehicle feels like it has a vibration or suspension problem since day one, but the dealer claims nothing is wrong, no problem and alignment is fine? they blaim it on my tires or my driving. But, I have read several postings about these same issues.
After just 24,000 miles, I had to replace the tires on my 2007 Mazda5 due to "cupping. " with just 5,000 miles on the new tires, the same thing is happening again. When I contacted Mazda regarding this, I was told it was a "design flaw" , and that if I didn't like the noise and the vibration from the tires, then I would just have to replace them frequently. This is not acceptable, due to the safety issues of driving on bad tires. I also can't afford $700. 00+ a year for new tires. If it is a "design flaw", then Mazda should be responsible for fixing this issue. When my car was in for service at the dealer last week, I was told it had a vibration at about 60 miles/hour, and that I should get it aligned. Took it to a local garage, and was told it was not out of alignment. Vibration was not there before they worked on the car at the dealer. I have also had the car to the dealer 3 times for a noise in the back end, and they could never find anything wrong. This last time, they did find I had a leaky shock. (I actually had to tell them to look for it after having the car in a neighborhood garage, and they found it. " have been told by the same neighborhood garage that my rotors are bad and need replaced, but Mazda felt they only needed to be "machined".
Mazda5 sport wagon equipped with toyo 205 50 r17 tires. Left front tire delaminated at approximately 40,000 miles. Thought this was an anomaly. Left rear tire delaminated at 40,900 miles. Both occurred at about 55 -60 miles an hour on paved highways. One delamination was at the juncture of the side wall and surface the other approximately 2 inches on the right surface. Delamination was about a 1/2 inch wide, entire circumference of the tire and was down to the wire reinforcement. Both tires had sufficient tread to meet safety requirements and were properly inflated. I have sent an email to Mazda customer service suggesting that they do a recall. I have the left rear tire in my possession.
I have a 2006 Mazda 5. I have gone through 4 sets of tires because they wear on the inside. I am about to replace my 5th set. This is a very costly issue and needs to be addressed. Mazda says its driving habits that is causing this, I drive mostly highway miles.
2008 Mazda 5 gt annoying bad tire noise ( toyo tires ).
Mazda 5 premature tire wear on toyo tires. The Mazda has 24712 miles, but only ~15000 are on the toyo tires due to running snow tires all winter and there is cupping and inner tire wear. Alignment was checked at Mazda and rear was slightly out of spec (-0. 03). Mazda denies ever hearing of a tire problem on their Mazda 5s, when the topic is all over their web. When I purchased the car the saleman assured me Mazda had resolved the premature tire wear that had been seen in the uk where the Mazda 5 appeared before the USA.
Premature tire wear - inside edges of rear tires wear to threads before outside edge is barely worn. Tire rotation does not help.
Van has 15,000 miles and is approx 14 months old. Vehicle was diagnosed with excessive tire wear in the front and tire cupping in the rear, creating excessive road/tire noise inside of the vehicle cabin.
My 2006 Mazda5 suffers from unusual tire wear. The inside edge tires wears completely down to the steal belts while the rest of the tires appear brand new. Even are tire alignment the read wheels look out of alignment when look at from behind. My tires only last 5000 to 7000 miles before needing to be replaced.
I bought a 2006 Mazda 5 in July 2007, in November had to buy all new tires($618). In may, had a flat. In July 2008 , the under guard screws fell out and had to pay $180 for a new guard, and the front struts were leaking. September2008 rotated the tires because of the noise, which made the noises worse. The tires had uneven wear and cupping. Also, in September 2008, compressor and clutch failed because of the compressor. R&r compressor assembly, clutch and belt cost me $1397. 40. October 2008, the under guard was coming off again and the found the bearings need replacing. They had to order them because everyone is getting them replaced. I'm ready to sell this car!. I did so love it. I can't afford car payments and all the repairs.
Premature tire wear is a huge problem. Had to replace the front 2 factory toyo tires at 8,777 miles (Sep 2008) due to even wear that placed the tires in the "red". Replaced the same two front tires (which were falken) at 24,437 miles (July 2009) because of even tire wear that placed the tires in the "red". I am now on my third set of tires at only 24,500 miles. Both times that tire replacement occurred, vehicle was taken to local Mazda dealership for alignment check and to verify what the cause of the abnormal, premature wear is. Both times the alignment was not off and there was no determining cause for the premature wear of the front two tires.
Abnormal tire wear, cupping inside rear tires at 21,000 miles. Dealer has replaced the defective shocks at 27,000 miles. The car rarely has more than four occupants and has never been under heavy load.
The 2006 Mazda5 causes excessive wear on tires quite frequently. I purchased my Mazda5 new in August 2006, and since then, I've had to purchase 2 sets of tires for this car due to the tires wearing on the inside edge. The 2nd set of tires that were replaced were so bad, that the service person at the dealership recommend that I do not drive the car off the lot because the tires hard worn so badly and could blow out at any moment. Those tires had only about 26000 miles on them! the last set of tires that was purchased in February 2008 are now beginning to show the same wear on the inside edges of all tires. These tires have only about 18000 miles on them. The tire wear occurred even after I had the recommended maintenance (rotation, balance, alignment) performed. I've read forums online where several other owners of the 2006 Mazda5 are having the exact same problem. I've called Mazda customer service to see if the manufacturer has reported any problems with the cars suspension, toe, angles, etc, but nothing has been reported, nor has the car been recalled for this problem. Mazda corp needs to do something before someone gets tragically hurt due to this problem. If I had not brought my car into the dealership for another mechanical reason in February 2008, I would not have known that my tires had worn so badly, especially since I had recently purchased the tires. I originally thought the problem was with the tires, but that is not the case. The problem is with the car. I've had 3 different name brand tires on this car, so the problem is definitely not the tires. It's the car!.
Ran over black top on roadway and wheels split in half driver side front and back.
Hi! I have a Mazda5 2006, last week I almost have an accident ,one of my back tires exploded, when my husband came to help me he was surprise to see the tire the outside look brand new but the inside was all broken and wasted ,I went to the dealer and told them that there's something wrong with the tires, which is not safe they should have a recall because it looks I'm not the only one with this problem, the dealer once they have the money they do not want to bother, knowing that they been having that same problem with other people ,they try to blame it on you, please do something about it I'm a mother of four kids my little one is only two, and they are all the time running with me ,please find out if there are more complaint of the same problem. I wasted like $600. 00 trying to fix it and I still have to change the other 2 because they are all wasted too.
The contact owns a 2006 Mazda Mazda5. The contact noticed that the sumitomo tires were wearing thin. The defective tires were replacement tires were manufactured by sumitomo, size p205/50/r17, and the dot number was u2h4. The tire line was not available. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the tires were replaced at least four times. The contact called the manufacturer who offered to have someone inspect the vehicle. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The contact stated that the weight requirements were incorrect and relayed that information to the dealer. The current mileage was approximately 29,000. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
I own a 2006 Mazda 5 I have had the tires balanced 4 times and the front end alignment checked, my tires had to be replaced due to excessive cupping on all four tires, I have had the tires balanced at least four times, they had just over 29,000 miles, the tire size is 205/50vr 17 (toyo). I have never had to replace tires this early, and needless to say these tires are expensive, I was just wondering if you have had any other complaints about this specific tire size and manufacturer.
Shortly after purchasing vehicle, noticed wheels slipped on rainy days. Asked dealer about lack of traction, especially when starting to accelerate, they were aware of the issue and said it was due to the power of the engine. Some customers had the same complaint, others didn't. After several months, I definitely did not feel the vehicle was safe for my teenagers to drive, as the lack of traction on wet roads was a safety concern. Asked dealer to switch tires, was told I would have to contact the tire manufacturer if it was a tire defect, but this was the performance of the car. Contacted Mazda customer service, who also would not address this safety complaint and told me I could purchase different tires. Brought to a second dealership to ask about issue, service manager told me this was due to a turbo in the engine creating alot of power at low gears. I was not aware of any turbo. . . Mechanic suggested the traction control model would have helped this issue. . There is no traction control model available, as far as I know. I like many things about this car, but really feel this loss of traction upon acceleration will cause an accident--we live on a busy road and timing is crucial to pull out of our driveway. We have owned over 15 cars and have never experienced this lack of safety on a vehicle--even on the turbos we have owned! this is a new model, and I think more people will notice the tires slipping as more of these are sold. I wish there was a traction control option, or that Mazda would have agreed to try different tires. We have 5500 miles on the car and I do not want my teens in it on rainy or snowy days.
Tires-premature wear. Tires become cupped. I have driven the vehicle for 26,000 miles and had to replace all tires at 21,000 due to noise. Problem was first reported at 17,000 miles. I have 5,000 on the new tires and the noise is back. Noise sounds just like bad bearings. Dealer said there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and can not explain the reason for the abnormal tire wear.
