Brakes Failed problem #1

We noticed that suddenly our 2 year old Mazda 6, with about 18,000 miles was barely braking. It has been serviced regularly and had a brake inspection at the dealership 2,000 miles and 5 months previously. The front brakes did not seem to be engaging at all, and we noted rust build up on the disc that no amount of braking could remove. An inspection at an independent shop revealed less than 10% remaining life on the rear brakes, and they noted that excessive rust had caused the brakes to rust out. The car is operated in kentucky--not exactly the center of the rust belt. I think defective brake materials are likely causing this unexpected and premature brake failure. While we did not experience an accident as a result, another driver may. I am writing in case other owners have had a similar issue with the 2008 Mazda 6.

Service Brakes problem #2

Placed our 2008 Mazda 6 in reverse, the steering wheel locked up, the brake pedal would not engage and car rolled back into a telephone pole, causing moderate damage to rear of vehicle. No warning of any previous failures.

Brake Disc Rotor problem #3

The contact owns a 2008 Mazda 6. The contact stated when coming to a stop after driving at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle would shake. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the front rotors were replaced. The failure mileage was 8,948. The current mileage was 18,243.
