The contact stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,200. Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v356000 (air bags) and 16v594000 (air bags) however, the parts for the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Nhtsa recall #:16v-594, manuf recall #: 9816h the sophisticated air bag sensor (sas) unit failure. The warning light has been illuminated since mid year of 2016. It was confirmed by Mazda dealership 03/08/2017 that it was on due to result of sas unit failure (when they replaced the defective airbag recall). I was told the sas module was not available at this time. I have called multiple times for time frame and told no date was available yet.
