Car won't start due to pcm/tcm lost communication.
I purchased this vehicle for my 16 yr old daughter 1 yr ago. The car has a clean carfax and has had no accidents. Upon purchasing the car the headlights continue to burn out. Taking it to a Mazda dealership I learned the headlight assembly unit was melting. I had to purchase 2 used headlight assembly because new from the dealership are 1,000 a piece. 2 used but perfectly working headlights were installed and within a yr the headlights had burned out again. I went to change the bulbs only to learn the headlight assembly were once again burnt. I have to purchase 2 new headlight assembly again but the mechanic can not guarantee that this burning situation won't occur. After calling around to places to find headlight assembly I have come to find out many are burnt. This seems like a real problem considering you need headlights to drive at night. Spending 1,000 everytime my headlights burn out seems 100% unreasonable and the fact that there is cleary a wiring issue within the headlight assembly unit itself seems to be a problem. I have been on multiple forums and this is a common issue. Please fix the problem!!!!!!.
Years of unexpected battery drain and rough starts which caused several other issues. Different mechanic advised of a faulty body control module bcm.
Air conditioner drips on to engine cradle resulting in rot.
Low beam intermittently turns off. Sometimes a firm slap on the headlight is a temporary resolution. I initially thought it was the bulb itself, had it replaced but the problem continued. There are lots of youtube videos on this issue. Mazda keeps telling that this is not a safety issue and they refuse to do anything. If they want to do business in the USA, they need to be safe or they need to go back to where they belong. This issue has been happening since 2014 (I bought this car in 2013).
The contact owns a 2010 Mazda 6. While driving 40 mph, the door ajar warning indicator and the dome light illuminated independently. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed that all the doors were closed. In addition, while at a stop light, the vehicle stalled and all the warning indicators illuminated. The contact turned off the engine, restarted the vehicle, and was able to drive; however, the failure recurred three times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
Both rear tire pressure sensors failed due to either over-tightening or corrosion. Both sensors snapped off right below the sensor stem cap causing both rear tires to deflate. On a newer car still under warranty, Mazda claims sensors are only covered until 36000 miles. And they're not cheap either ($80 each, not including installation. ).
The contact owns a 2010 Mazda Mazda6. The contact was driving 2 mph and entering a residential driveway when the start/stop button was inadvertently engaged and the steering wheel locked. The contact stated that the start/stop button was located below the air conditioner button and the contact believed the location of the button was a safety hazard. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
