Display screen has developed the common “spider web cracking” with my 2017 Mazda 6. There has been no accident on my vehicle and it is causing issues with being able to clearly see what is showing. My driver seat “heated seat” has melted the lower back leather material. The heating element doesn’t heat the bottom of the seat and just the lower back part. It has caused the leather to melt.

The contact owns a 2016 Mazda m6. The contact stated that the driver seat was previously moved backward; however, when her daughter attempted to move the seat forward so she could drive the vehicle, the seat remained stuck in a backward position. There was no further information provided. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, who informed the contact that the wire connecting the seat motor to the seat track had snapped. The dealer informed the contact that the entire seat assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
1) unknown. My guess: the front seats or guard rails. 2) very seat when braking, and coming to and from a stop. Poses as a safety risk. 3) yes, no remedy/solution was yielded. Others on forums who visited dealership stated that the dealership said it was “normal”. Despite the other side not having the issue at all. 4) no 5) no full assessment: the issue of this complaint lies within the front seat of the vehicle. My educated guess is that there is a defect within the seat rails of the vehicle as no remedy seems to be found upon extensive research on google and various forums. Specifically, in my vehicle and may others that I have found, have issues with the driver seat feeling loose when braking or hitting the gas from a stop. Many individuals (including my close friend) have raised this to dealerships and were told that this is “normal” despite the passenger seat (or vice versa) does not have the same issue whatsoever with no remedy. I personally have tightened all possible nuts and bolts for the seat and brought it to multiple shops and dealerships, which yielded no remedy as all bolts were in fact tightened. I strongly believe that this issue should be further investigated and mitigated as it poses as a risk of serious injury - whether involved in an accident or the seat coming loose, or off entirely. The best way to describe the amount of play is sitting on a chair that is placed on an uneven floor, with one corner rocking toward itself. Or a table that is placed on an unleveled floor and is rocking towards one end (which that remedy consists of folding an napkin enough times to stick it under one of the legs). Please note that I have had this car for a couple of years and this one thing that grinds my gears. . Aside from the plastic rattle of the driver side window switch module when listening to music.
Driver's seat does not slide back and forward at all. Is stuck in the back position.

"driver seat alignment" after driving for any period of time drivers left legs begins to feel discomfort or stress to the outside of left knee due to seat being angled left. Pressure from left footrest and wheel wall forces driver to retract leg and plant into floor closer to the seat. This is consistent with every time I have driven also it was confirm by a Mazda sales associate.
1 recall front passenger seat. Short circuit, multiple warning/indicator lights.
Drivers side heated seat -lower back gets very hot on lowest setting and doesn't heat actual seat. Can feel it through a winter coat. When accidently touched with bare skin, almost burned.
While driving on us-40 heavy braking was applied, and a metal support bracket underneath the drivers seat cracked, and subsequently broke from its weld.

Driver seat is unstable and has been since I purchased the vehicle. I never got it looked at because I can't afford repairs. There was a recall for the passenger seat and I believe it would be for the driver seat as well given the driver seat stability is crucial. It rocks as if it isn't fully secure. You notice it sometimes when getting in and out the car and I became noticable when my dog decided to jump into my seat one day when cleaning my interior and I saw the seat heavily rock forward and backward. You sometimes notice it as well when coming to a stop from highway speeds the seat will slightly tilt forward. This issue has been with the car after I purchased it in 2018 but didn't notice it until a few months after the purchase.
The driver's seat is stuck in one position. Does not move up or down or back and forth. My relalative is shorter than me so she had it too much towards the front. I'm the owner and cannot adjust it. Will not move. The vehicle was stationary on my property.

After connecting searbelt and moving in traffic the seat begins to move because seat belt is hooked on the lever that moves the seat into reclining position, very dangerous when in traffic and trying to reach break, gas, etc. This has happened on many occassions and takes me by surprise every time.

Left driver seat became unhinged while in motion. It lunges back and does not set in place. No impacts from accidents. The switch to lower/raise the seat works perfectly. The seat rocks back and forth.

Driving through a tunnel my car began to fill with smoke. I pulled over and looked for where the smoke came from and found the switch to my heated seats was on fire. My car would no longer turn on. Repair man at dealership says it's something that just happens I guess. Somewhere something shorted. I'm just glad my child was not in the car when this happened. Beware!! there are current recalls for the exact make and model in australia and europe for the same issue. I'm still waiting for the us the issue a recall so I can get my money back.

While sitting in my parked car, I was burned by the seat warmer. This is not the first time that this has happened, but this was the most severe incident. I began to smell plastic burning-- this is quite frightening and could be potentially dangerous.
I was driving home from work. It was cold, and as I usually do, turned on the heated seat. About 20 minutes into my drive, I noticed that my back was heating up more than usual. My back then started to burn, so I immediately turned the heated seat off. Then I noticed a smell of burned plastic. After I arrived home, I got out of my car and noticed that there was a burn hole through my leather seat. I took off my jacket and noticed that it had also burned a hole through it as well. I contacted my dealer and took it in on January 21. They told me that because the warranty wasn't any good, there was nothing they could do. Any repairs would be at my expense. I told them that they replaced my heated seat in January of '09 because it had stopped working and they charged me around $500. Four years later, it malfunctioned and they don't want to take any blame. I told the dealer it was a safety issue, not a warranty issue. I've emailed Mazda's website but no one is responding.

Leased new 2010 Mazda 6 October 2009. About 3 months later, I turned the lumbar adjustment knob, and a loud pop happens and the knob starts freewheeling. The lumbar knob connection (shaft/whatever it is) to the internals broke. Many months later, I called to make an appointment at the same time as a recall came out. Medical conditions prevented me from keeping that appointment, so I called and canceled it. So today, 10/07/11 I took it in for the recall and the broken lumbar knob connection so that parts could be ordered to fix it. Turns out there were 2 other recalls too, so that was added to the list. About 2 1/2 hours later, the car is brought up. The service adviser says that the tech sees there are aftermarket seat covers on the seats, and therefore whoever put those on, broke the lumbar knob connection. (the aftermarket seat covers are on there because the material used for this models seats is prone to excessive wear, and since this is a lease, I don't want that. ) I advised the service adviser and service manager that the seat covers were just recently put on, (last week of August 2011) and in no way had anything to do with the broken lumbar knob connection. The service adviser said that I would have to bring it in another time for the regional rep to look at it, to determine if it would be fixed or not. I again advised, that it had absolutely nothing to do with it, and besides that, it's just nylon fabric that's put over the seat cushions. And they were not even on when it happened. The service manager said that's the only way that the dealership can get paid for it, is if the rep says so. So, the service manager, service writer, and technician at bob moore Mazda okc are saying I'm lying about how the lumbar knob connection broke. Also, when the vehicle was returned to me, the tech had reinstalled the seat belt twisted. Shows the quality of service there.
Stopped on highway due to police activity. Vehicle was struck from behind at 40 mph causing the seats to collapse followed by a front-side collision in which the air bags failed to deploy. There were no consequences of the failure and the part was not replaced due to the total loss of the vehicle.

: the contact stated while stopped at a stop light; a vehicle traveling 30 mph rear ended the contact. During the accident, the driver and passenger side seats moved forward causing injuries to the driver and passenger. The dealership determined the pins which enable the driver and passenger seats to be adjusted and moved sheared off, causing the seats to come unlocked and move forward during the accident. The passenger side seat was pushed all the way back prior to the accident, but during the accident, the seat moved forward. Seat belts were in use at the time of the accident and did work properly. There were no problems with the seats staying locked in position prior to the accident. A police report was taken.
Air conditioner will fog up the windshield. It blows through the defroster and it blows moisture on the windshield. This happens mostly in the morning and evening and when it rains. Dealer and manufacturer said there was nothing they could do. The material on the seats was coming a apart, the door handles were inoperative.
