2001 Mazda Mpv with check engine light on. Consumer states that the mechanic stated that the coolant was leaking, oil filter and oil were changed. The dealership informed the consumer there was a crack in the engine block and the only fix was a new engine. The consumer stated the vehicle was maintained exclusively by the dealership from date of purchase. The consumer was told the crack was caused by overheating, but the temperature gauge needle never moved beyond halfway point to indicate there was a problem and the engine light never gave an overheating read out.
