1 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2007

I'm experiencing misfire with the 2002 Mazda Mpv. The engine coils are the culprit. This is a common problem with many Mpv owners and is a manufacture defect. It causes the engine to jerk and lose power and consume more gas. Some reported this issue with only 25,000 miles and mine is around 47,000. I believe this should be a recall for this is a common occurrence.

2 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2005

Engine was hesitating during acceleration causing difficulty in driving, especially merging into traffic. Problem got worse as engine heated up. Dealer diagnosed problem as a bad coil but could not determine which of the 6 coils were faulting. Dealer finally gave in and replaced them for no charge after I complained to corporate. Possible recall item?.

3 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2002

Driving van on major hwy (h-2 freeway) at 50mph, suddenly a decrease in power and engine died . Prior to the engine incident, noticed my dashboard got fairly hot and radiated heat in the interior area.
