Mazda had two service bulletins for this defect which included replacing sensors and switches. Mazda also supplied a diagram to instruct drivers to "wiggle" the gear selector between gears. None of this solved the problems. Engine coils were replaced three times at 24,000 miles, 32,000 miles, and 35,000 miles. This caused the vehicle to stop running correctly while driving.
