When excelerating on the initial depression of the pedal, car will not excelerate, seems 'stuck'. For the car to move you must depress the pedal further which results in a sudden high speed exceleration, in a jumping fashion. This is true in drive or reverse. When Mazda dealer service rep. Was contacted she said there had been several problems reported to that dealership of the same nature but not recalls or service bulletins have been reported.
