Wheel problem #1

In oct. Of 2018, I purchased a Mazda with yokohama advan sport v105, 195/50r16, 84v tires. These were the standard tires that came on the car. Now some 15,832 miles later and less than 3 yrs. , I am told that they have "micro cracks" and should be replaced. Closer research revealed that these are "summer tires" that "flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in max performance summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced. " at no time was I warned that driving with these tires in the winter could cause this damage. More important is the fact that they get dangerously little traction under these cold conditions-especially with even a minimal amount of snow. A consumer should be warned about this foreseeable dangerous condition-especially when this car is sold in a state with severe winters.

Wheel problem #2

These tires are the original tires that came on my car which was purchased in September of 2016. When I was rotating these tires for the second time in 6138 miles I noticed that these tires were splitting open in the grooves that run around the circumference of the tire. I am afraid to drive this car for fear of a blowout in one or more tires. These brigestone potenza s001 tires should be watched closely if they are splitting open with only 6138 miles and 3 1/2 years of use. I feel that these are very unsafe tires.

Wheel problem #3

False positive warning light on tire pressure monitoring system. Low pressure indicator light comes on even though tires are equal and normal pressure. This false positive warning comes on frequently and renders the tpms ineffective. Low tire pressure light came on during normal driving only 125 miles after being reset after last occasion. Both times reset was done at the Mazda dealership.

Wheel problem #4

We have a 2005 Mazda mx 5, with 29000+miles. The rt front tire kept going down and nothing was in the tire. Examination revealed a crack in the outer rim edge. Cracked from the inside to the outside. This car has never been in any incidents but in the past one of the rear tires came off the rim with no explination as to the cause. This wheel was not the same wheel involved. But the crack is very real. We have owned it since new. The tire has never been off the rim since new.
