1 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2017 Mazda MX5

Failure Date: 09/20/2025

I have 205/45/r 17 on a car that I drive on short trips maybe once a week or two. Driving on the highway, the tpms light came on and the handling was instantly strange. I pulled over and checked the tire, the sidewall was blown out on the passenger rear. I had it replaced. Now about 2 months later, the right rear went flat after a trip. I took it to be repaired and was told that the sidewall was splitting and it could not be repaired. I am concerned that this may not be coincidence.

2 Tire Sidewall problem of the 1995 Mazda MX5

Failure Date: 11/04/2015

I bought four douglas performance gt-h 185/60-14 dot pjf8 1ylr from wal-mart. These tires are made by goodyear in USA. When they put them on the rim a bolt was found molded in the sidewall after it was notice not to hold air. It's a good thing it did not hold air cause I'd hate to find that at interstate speed. The tire also had chalk marks smeared off the side. So someone at the factory probably noticed it was bad and another inspector ok'ed it to be sold. I have no idea how they dropped a bolt in the mold.

3 Tire Sidewall problem of the 1999 Mazda MX5

Failure Date: 07/05/2007

I have had 4 flat tires while driving in the past year with radial gt, ultra hp 4, size 185/60r14 on a 1999 Mazda miata. One in October 2006, another in may 2007 and 2 more today (7/5/07). All flat tires were from small holes between the tread and sidewall. The first 2 were the right rear. Today, both the left rear, and 15 minutes later, the right rear went flat. If this happened once, or even twice, I'd think it was a coincidence. But in 25 years of driving, I've never had a tire go completely flat while driving. 4 tires in one year seems kind of odd. These tires have less than 20,000 miles on them and probably had at least half the tread left. There was no damage or close calls because of these, but I had to change tires on busy freeways for 2 of these flat tires. Thank you.
