Front Air Bag problems of the 1999 Mazda Protege

Two problems related to front air bag have been reported for the 1999 Mazda Protege. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2003

While driving 55 mph the consumer rear ended another motorist. None of the frontal air bags deployed upon impact. As a result the driver sustained injuries to her sternum from impacting the steering wheel.

2 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2001

While driving and slowing down a truck hit consumer's vehicle and pushed it into another vehicle. Upon impact, none of the air bags deployed.
