Three problems related to engine have been reported for the 2005 Mazda RX8. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have a 2005 Mazda Rx8, at 104,000 miles on the engine the compression went out. My warranty expired at 100,000 miles. I noticed other Rx8 owners are having the same problem. I had a Mazda rx7 which had over 170,000 miles before the engine gave up.
1) when summer season began my 2005 RX-8 with less than 20k miles started dying in the middle of traffic/traffic lights. Then immediately after that incident when on the interstate the car would not accelerate. 2-3)car has been to dealership to replace coils - however if you look at automotive. Com and read the posts from hundreds of RX-8 owners 90% of the posts have the same problem and live all over the u. S. Mazda keeps our vehicles for a day or two to replace this or replace that but in the end the engines need to be replaced. However, it is unknown if the replaced engine fixes the problem or if the problems start all over again.
The engine has been replaced 2 times and now isn't starting again was towed again today.
