Mazda RX8 owners have reported 8 problems related to structure (under the structure category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
On my 2007 Rx8 right dashboard passenger airbag has cracked and had made the shape of the airbag. Looks like the airbag can deploy at any given moment and can cause serious injury to driver and passenger. The dealership or manufacture will not take responsibility in fixing or correcting the problem. There are hundreds of complaints about this problem and I don't understand why a recall has not been issued. My car has been in the garage since I purchased it so sun is not the cause of this problem. I would like to know what I can do about this problem and how can I get the manufacture to repair and take responsibility before someone is seriously injured or killed.

I bought a used Mazda Rx8 (2005 with about 60 thousand miles) with a manual transmission. After about 3 months of daily driving (no racing or hard shifting) my clutch pedal broke while approaching a red light. The bracket that holds the pedal in place broke due to its very thin metal design. Upon researching the issue online I have found that many RX-8 owners are having the same issue. I have installed a reinforced bracket at my own expense and still need to make some adjustments because it has unaligned the gears in the transmission. If this break would have occurred at any other time I believe it could easily result in serious injury or death. I spend a lot of time on the highway getting to school and I believe that at 65 mph this break would have at least destroyed the transmission. This issue needs to be resolved and a recall must be implemented.

2005 Mazda Rx8: upon driving I heard what sounded like a loud crack. The clutch pedal on my car felt 'loose' and I immediately pulled over to discover that the welds on my clutch pedal had broken. Fortunately I was almost home but I had difficulty shifting and had to be careful as the clutch pedal was making its way towards the brake pedal. (if it broke any more, it would have been difficult to apply the brake) this could have been disastrous under different circumstances.
: the contact stated while driving in normal conditions and no particular speed, the engine vibrates. The vehicle was taken to the local dealership for inspection. The dealer discovered two motor mounts were broken. The repair parts are on back order and no repairs were made.
While driving my 2004 RX-8 6speed my clutch pedal broke. The actual welding broke along the inside of the car underneath the dash. It is not the clutch itself, but the actual pedal assembly. It was while I was driving and seems to be a pretty serious safety issue. I have googled this issue a bit and found a lot of other people with this exact same problem thanks.
My clutch pedal bracket broke from my 2004 Mazda RX-8 at 62k miles.
2004 Mazda RX 8 has many design defects, battery was replaced, spark plugs and oil filter was replaced 3 months after purchase. The started was replaced. The vehicle was stalling in traffic and was taking multiple times to try to restart the vehicle. After numerous times of the vehicle being towed, the dealership decided to replace the entire engine. After the replacement of the engine, the engine light illuminated and the vehicle was still not starting smoothly. The dash lights were blinking on and off and the heat was not working. The catalytic converter, 02 sensor, and a/c amplifier. The heater control switch was replaced. The sun visor was replaced.
