On 11/07/05 vehicle was brought in due to stalling when slowing and stopping. The engine sensor was replaced. On 11/08/05 vehicle was bought back still stalling. Ac gasket and idle valve were replaced. We were told our engine was damaged and dealer would not fix. The day I picked up the vehicle it stalled at 60 mph. Three days later it would not start. Brought vehicle to local mechanic, fuel pump had to be replaced. The vehicle is undrivable. This is the second time I have filed a complaint about this vehicle.

consumer stated while his wife was driving, the vehicle completely stalled. There were no brakes, the consumer could not get the vehicle out of gear, and she could not activate any safety items on the vehicle. The vehicle had a relay sensor replaced by a local service dealer, they stated they didn't know what was wrong with the vehicle.

While driving 40 - 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle lost steering and braking capability. The consumer had to struggle to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a local dealership and they were unable to duplicate the problem . In April 2004, the vehicle was involved in a recall dealing with (pcm) power train control module recalibration. Please describe details. .

The contact owns a 2001 Mazda Tribute. In 2004, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled while driving under 50 mph. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they adjusted the pcm module, which was under a recall. The repair seemed to have corrected the failure; however, four years later, the vehicle is experiencing the same failure. She took the vehicle back to the dealer, but they could not find any failures. The failure could not be diagnosed because it is intermittent. The vehicle is currently at the dealer. Several times and again yesterday the 2001 Mazda Tribute v-6 that I own stalled or in other words quit running while going down a steep bridge. I almost got run over by a dump truck that was behind me.

Vehicle stalls without notice. On 3-2-04 I took the car to be fixed but the very next day it stalled again. When I called to let the wantagh service dealer know about what happened, they were very nasty and acted as if I were complaining for nothing. They made me feel like it was my problem, I don't know if this is because the car is still under warranty and they are not able to charge for their service. Yet, I purchased the extended warranty for 2 extra years, which entitles me to this service.

My Mazda Tribute stalled while in operation. The battery was replaced since I believed it was the problem. A week after the battery was replaced the SUV stalled again.

I have been informed that my 2001 Mazda Tribute has a various engine parts that are not working properly, casusing it to stall when accelerating. This happened to me on the entrance ramp to the freeway, and I was very nearly rear-ended by a vehicle going between 50-65 mph. I must say, it was one of the scariest events of my life, and I am not at all pleased with the fact that this happened in a car that's barely 3 years old!.

My 2001 Tribute has stalled twice in the last yar. It seems to be related to hills. This life threatening situation could result in a crash because power steering fails, and there is no engine power. Mazda must recall for this issue before someone is hurt.

Vehicle stalled twice, once while waiting for a red light the other time while driving. The first time this occurred the dealer replaced a sensor, the second time it occurred they said they were not able to determine the problem and were not able to duplicate. I'm very concerned about this problem.

2001 Mazda Tribute stalls when coming to a stop. It starts again ok but I have to keep rpm's up to keep the engine running, otherwise it stalls. One failure so far but this seems to be a real problem with the 2001 Tribute.

On April 2, 2003 driving in rush hour traffic, my 2001 Mazda Tribute stalled without warning. I did not have any steering or brake control. This has happened once before approximately. 2 months ago. Both times I was going downhill. I have found others who have filed complaints about this same thing. This is a very serious and dangerous issue that Mazda needs to address and correct as soon as possible. Also the owners of these Tribute's need to be compensated for the cost of so called repairs. Mine is going to the dealership April 17, 2003 to see if they can find the problem.

I have just found this website and realized that an existing problem that I had been complaining about in my car. The dealer claimed the problem didn't exist ,even after the first recall. I brought in to fix. I had no knowledge of the power train recall the manufacturer never informed me of this problem at all nor the dealer. I've been an owner for 6 years. An extended warranty, I am apauled at the way Mazda Ford dealers handle there customers after repeatedly telling them of this problem. I'd like to know what I'm going to do at this point but to engage a petiton to my friends and family not to buy this product Ford Mazda. I think this is wrong on your part what can I do about this problem now that it's getting worst . You've put my life and my families life at risk knowing that if my car stalls out while driving which it has already happened on a few occasions. The last incident was coming home from peekskill NY and the car staled on me 6times. Please let the dealer know this is a real problem.

Vehicle is intermittently stalling. At low speeds, under 40 mph, vehicle will stall while in motion causing loss of power steering and brakes. When vehicle was repaired by dealership resulting in problem happening more frequently than before. Vehicle tends to stall on slight inclines or declines in the road. One stall nearly caused driver to rear end another vehicle due to loss of power brakes. Vehicle is back at dealer for second attempt at repair of problem. Dealership has provided above average customer service while handling problem however repair attempt has only made problem worse. This is about our 2001 Mazda Tribute lx , 4x4, v6. Our VIN. # 4f2yuo8141km11976, but your system is not accepting this number. Our Tribute has stalled more than 5 times over the last 2 years. We have called the Mazda dealer to ask if they have had this problem with other Tributes. They claimed they were not aware of that type of problem three occassions between April 2001 and November 2001. Something we were doing wrong. August 2002, after another stalling episode we decided it was too dangerous and took the car into the dealership. They then informed us that they had a lot of other 2001 and 2002 Tributes with the same problem. They had our Tribute at the dealership repair shop for 63 straight days before the Mazda h. Q. Called us from irvine, CA to tell us that our Tribute had been repaired and they were sure that it was not going to stall again because they had not had any other Tributes that were repair for the stalling problem repeat the problem. About a month later our Tribute again stalled exactly as it had done many times before. I was asked to come to the dealership and talk to them about buying the new 2003 model Tribute at a reduced price because of our trouble. When we went to the dealer to drive the 2003 model we were told they could not let us drive the new model because it was stalling. Dt.

Vehicle stalls at speeds under 30 mph, with foot off gas, or when idling. Stall often occurs during a turn, disabling the power-assisted steering until engine can be restarted. (restart occurs promptly. ) five visits to dealer service dept. Since 7/12/02 have failed to correct problem. Mazda-recommended service on power-train control module was performed, to no apparent effect. Related work done on idle, throttle, solenoid. Stalling continues. Nlm.
