Door Hinge problems of the 2001 Mazda Tribute

2001 Mazda Tribute - drivers side door handle does not work and finding many people with the same problem on the internet. The car only has 76,000 miles.

The inside driver's side door handle to my 2001 Mazda Tribute snapped making it impossible for the driver to exit the vehicle without rolling down the window. I have found that this is a very frequent occurrence, in fact, the replacement part is on a nationwide backorder due to the extent of the poor design. My mechanic said that the order will not arrive until sometime between 2 weeks and 6 months. He is not sure.

2001 Mazda Tribute interior driver door handle broken and will not open door from the inside. This would result in the delay of exiting the vehicle in the event of crash which could result in death if in a river or lake.

: the contact stated the inside door handle on the driver's side sheered off. While attempting to open the door the plastic handle broke. The only way of exiting the vehicle from the driver's side is to roll down the power window and open the door from the outside. The dealer was alerted and the door handle was replaced.

The contact stated approximately two weeks ago the inside door handle on the driver side stopped working. He had to roll down the window and use the outside handle to get out. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic, and he found the door handle assembly needed to be replaced. The part is on back order at this time.

The driver's side door handle was replaced twice in order to gain entry. The window had to be lowered. The door handle on the passenger side was defective.

Bolts have disengaged from hinge on rear left door, causing door to completely come off.
