Two problems related to accelerator pedal have been reported for the 2002 Mazda Tribute.

The contact owns a 2002 Mazda Tribute. The contact stated that her vehicle makes a grinding noise when accelerating. The noise occurs at any speed. The noise began infrequently, but is now heard at least four times per day. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they could find nothing wrong. The grinding noise has become more frequent and louder. Updated 08/14/07.
Accelerator Pedal problem

Vehicle shuts off completely during movement. It also speeds up without the accelerator pedal being depressed. Also, transmission does not change gears.
