Incident occurred on 10/20/2012 at 7:00 pm in the fred meyer parking lot in klamath falls, oregon. Temperature out 40 degrees. Tailgate window shattered in parking lot on my 2010 Mazda Tribute. I came out of fred meyer. I opened the tailgate to load a few items. I shut the tailgate and the back window exploded. Shattered glass flew over 10 feet in all directions, landed on my feet, fell into the back of the vehicle. Glass pieces were tiny shards that were very sharp. I had numerous cuts on my hands trying to pick up the large pieces. I had two dogs in the back of the vehicle that the glass had come in on them and they were standing on the pieces that covered the entire back interior.
While parked at a gas station the front door passenger power window slammed opened/down during normal door closure. Window regulator assembly was removed and found defective. Internal cable windings were kinked and caused plastic within power window motor to break allowing cable/window to move freely and fall to open/down position. Safety of vehicle is jeopardized. . . If this happened at speed it could certainly create a startling event that could cause a driver to lose control of the vehicle because of the sudden unexpected distraction by sudden rush of wind noise and environmental elements.

My battery began being drained for no apparent reason. I bought a new battery but it didn't solve the problem. When it is cold I have to have my car jumped to start most of the time. I sat in the car listening to the radio for about 15 minutes this summer and then found the battery was dead. The rear wiper stopped working and my back up lights stopped working about a year ago. Also the driver's side door would not unlock with the remote. I did have a remote start installed shortly after I purchased my car and it has been checked out and is not the source of the problem. Although not life threatening is extremely frustrating to have to continually find jumps and help in order to drive my car. Not having back up lights may lead to an accident eventually.
