One problem related to fuel pump has been reported for the 2001 Mercedes Benz 240. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Three episodes on unintended acceleration from a stop. Vehicle begins to stall and then suddenly accelerates. Dealer states problem on earlier vehicles, but solved with replacement fuel pump. I have replacement pump but problem still occurs. Fortunately, no one in front of me on these occasions.
