One problem related to steering anti-theft device has been reported for the 2001 Mercedes Benz 320. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving at 30 mph steering wheel locked up upon making a right hand turn. This resulted in loss of control of the vehicle, and it slammed into the wall. Upon impact, frontal air bags did not deploy, and the windshield shattered in ward. Vehicle towed. No injuries sustained. This was a leased vehicle.
