Strong gas smell in garage after filling gas tank. Appeared to come from left rear side of the car. A few days later, the check engine light came on. Diagnosis by dealer is that there is a crack in the upper part of the gas tank. Gas tank and fuel assembly must be replaced. Estimate is for $3,000. Not covered by warranty and customer must pay full replacement cost.
