Body Problems of Mercedes Benz C240

The panoramic sunroof on my 2001 Mercedes Benz C240 shattered or exploded while I was driving at a highway speed of 55 mph. It sounded like a gunshot and the glass was shattered over the passenger and rear seats. No one was sitting in those seats fortunately. Mercedes dealer says there is no recall or warranty for this safety issue to date. I will have to pay out of pocket $1500.

Received NHTSA recall #19v918, mb campaign #2020040011, and brought vehicle to mercedes dealer, alfano, in san luis obispo, CA on 8/25/2020. Was told by dealer's service manager that vehicle production date was not available and that the vehicle did not match the models included in the recall, such production dates were from 01/16/2006 to 07/09/2006 inclusive. No inspection of the sunroof bonding or repairs were attempted on the vehicle. Image of service invoice attached to this document.

As a time my vehicle needs to be renewal with California dmv , the recall part has not been available from mercedes manufacture. Mercedes benz does not provide any future time frame for the recall part that will effects on my vehicle registration renewal with dmv (it also means my renewal with dmv will be on hold and I don not have any other vehicle to drive if it happens by the time the current vehicle registration expired). I already contacted with local mercedes dealer and Mercedes Benz us but they can not do anything with the recall any time soon before my current registration ends. My vehicle is currently using and have no issue but I need to redeem a recall part so I can get a new vehicle registration at dmv.

Tl-the contact owns a 2005 mercedes-benz C240. The contact was sitting at the light waiting to drive into a gas station. A motorcycle struck them from the right passenger side. The right passenger side air bag did deploy. The contact's spouse was injured (front passenger seat) and now has fluid on thier lungs. Medical attention was required. The person on the motorcycles was injured. A police report was filled. The vehicle was not destroyed. The vehicle was not repaired and the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic. Where the fehicle was diagenosed and body work is needed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000. Jw.

The gear shift does not stay mounted in the car. It constantly comes out of the board. It comes up when I am changing gears.
