Failure Date: 03/01/2021

When accelerating to pass on highway car suddenly goes into limp mode and losses power this is dangerous at 70 plus miles per hour, ecm code reads p0002 high pressure fuel regulator failure, check engine light will stay on until car has been shut off for longer than ten minutes or if you have a scanner you can erase code and drive the car normal, no passing. This has also happen pulling out from a stop light car has buckle with immediate power loss and will only creak up in limp mode just enough to get you home. I am a well season mechanic with over 20 years experience and this is absolutely dangerous. Please don't wait until someone gets hurt or killed by this which is a known issue going back before 2012. 2 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 08/31/2020

2012 C250 purchased new from a dealer. Rattling on starting engine and check engine light is on. Spoke with my mechanic and it is due to faulty camshaft adjusters. Repair will cost $5000 plus and involves replacing the camshaft adjusters, timing chain and sprockets. This problem just started 10 days ago with approximately 38,000 miles on the odometer. Seems to be a well known problem and not an expense I can really afford on reduced income due to covid lockdown. I am very worried about driving this car as this problem can result in catastrophic engine failure and I am regularly on the freeway. Driving this car is no longer safe. I purchased a mercedes thinking their reputation for safety, quality and engineering would preclude such issues.

4 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

I was driving on the highway doing around 70 mph and all of a sudden my car lost power and start shaking acting like it didn't want to go forward, I was afraid that it was going shut down on me and a lot of cars was coming behind me I was so afraid I was going to be in a bad accident, I was able to get over and come to a complete stop without incident, but I was afraid the car was going to shut off on me and not start back up but I manage to make it home because I was only a few miles away. The next day I took the car to be diagnose because the check engine light came on I went to the automobile repair shop to have it diagnose and the code came up for camshaft position sensors I had them replaced, then my car started hesitating to start and the check engine light would come on and then go off while I was driving and I would drive it for about 30 mins and the check engine light would come back on again stay on for a little while and go back off again, I took it to the dealership again and I was inform that it was the timing chain but I didn't believe it, because I had just replaced the sensors and the spark plugs and I didn't have that many miles on it and I have only had the car for 3 1/2 years, I still didn't believe it then my car started to hesitate on starting up and loosing power when I was driving it again, so I took it to another automobile repair shop that specialize in fixing Mercedes Benz and it came back with the same diagnose check engine light is due to timing chain, timing chain need replacing. I have already replace 2 camshaft position sensors on this car. I was told it will cost me around 5000. 00 to fix it. I have always had my car maintenance service on time, I can't believe that this car is having this type of problems. I am so afraid to drive this car.

7 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 05/17/2019

Bought car from mercedes lot, used with 70k miles. Delivered it with check engine light. Salesman claimed it was low washer fluid. I said I wasnt going anywhere in a car with a check engine light and he needed to get it back to service and have code ran. After doing so he claimed it just needed to be reset since last service some work had been done(another lie). Told him I was retest driving before accepting vehicle. Turned over 3 times, then started. When driving on the interstate the throttle became unresponsive and died out with cars speeding up behind me. Forced mercedes to put it back in service. It was the timing chain and cam adjuster issue. Theres 100s of people notifying you of this. Mercedes knows and is trying to lie to customers and still sell them knowing they're damaged and dangerous. Fix can be upwards of $4000. A recall needs to be made!!! please do something!.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 01/01/2019

Hello, I bought my car from local dealer, used with 69k miles. Delivered it with check engine light. Dealer claimed it was low windshield washer fluid. I test drive it and took car to my house. After a month, I went to Mercedes Benz service station where I found out the camshaft adjuster is out. Costing another $4900. I research more on this issue; this is a flaw in the mercedes m271 engine. After a certain amount of mileage, the camshaft and timing chain have been malfunctioning in most mercedes C250 cars. Mercedes did a recall on it years ago the camshaft adjuster solenoid is very faulty as it happens to most C250 vehicle owners. The check engine stays on every day, there are 1000s of people reported this issue with mercedes.

9 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 12/11/2018

I bought the certified car at 50k and at 70k miles, right after the warranty ended - check engine light came on and the dealership said it will cost $8k due to camshafts to repair!! they even suggested that I should consider trading the car in! keep in mind I still owe $28k so that option is out! since then the check engine light still on even after I got it repaired at a local/affordable mechanic and it's about 110k mileage and the engine is rattling as it runs. This is my 3rd benz and the first 2 failed due to the transmission failure. I just can't believe these german cars cause so many problems and so costly to repair. What happen to you pay for what you get!!! today, while I was driving the car just slowly stop and the engine cut off! aaa came to check and it's not the battery so will need to get towed. Still owe $10k left- I don't know what to do! no other car to drive .

Failure Date: 04/09/2018

My car has 47k mileage and the check engine light was on a few weeks ago. The error code was p0340 camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. The Mercedes Benz dealer technicians checked the check and found that the issue was caused by timing chain and they had to replace it. I did research online and found lots of mb C250 2012 and 2013 cars with similar mileage (40k to 60k) had exact same issue as mine. It can cause cranky start, failure to accelerate while driving and losing power. It can be extremely dangerous when car with this issue on the road, especially on highways.

12 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 05/27/2017

Sometimes while driving my car it will stutter as if it wants to turn off while driving. Additionally, when starting up the vehicle it stalls before actually turning over. The check engine light came on and the vehicle was taken to a certified mercedes dealership and the diagnostics came back stating a issue with the "camshaft adjusters (internal fault)". Apparently, first generation C250s are having this issue but it has since been corrected with later generations.

14 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 10/13/2015

When accelerating at highway speeds (mostly) check engine light comes on and car shakes. If you pull over and restart the car most of the time the check engine light goes away. The engine error code (from mercedes) is p03001 which is a cylinder misfire. I purchased this car brand new and have had it at the dealership 8 times now for the same problem. They have replaced the fuel pump and injectors and problem still persists. Mercedes dealer is telling me there is nothing wrong with the car and they can't duplicate the problem after a week with the vehicle. The car is very dangerous to drive. This has happened to me no less than 20 times in 2 years of owning the vehicle. My son has been in the car with me several times when this has happened and it is a safety hazard to be at highway speeds and the car can no longer accelerate and starts to decelerate. Mercedes needs to do something about this before someone (namely me) dies because of this known issue. They have known about this with an internal document since October 2012 yet they continue to ignore the problem.

15 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 10/02/2015

I leased my vehicle in November of 2013. The vehicle is driven to and from work and in the beginning I never had a problem. A few months ago I was driving down the freeway at 70 mph and all of a sudden the check engine light came on and the vehicle lost power. The vehile would violently shake whe trying to accelerate. I manged to continue to drive for about another 30 minutes and made it to the dealer and turned the car off but once they restarted it the car ran fine. Since then then car will randomly loose power all of a sudden it has been to the dealer 3 or 4 times and they keep it for a week and then give it back and say that they were not able to recreate the issue. I have almost been hit once so far and when I let my brother use the car he was almost hit while making a left turn because of the random power loss. I have contacted mbusa and spoke with someone named juan. I continued to call him ans take the vehicle to the dealer everytime it happened expressing my concerns abiut the car as well as safety. Juan intiallly acted as if he cared but that was shor lived as he finally called back on 10/2/15 and explained that his managers and mbusa were unable to create the issue at the dealer level so there is nothing they will do at this point. . . At that point I realized that there is nothing that mbusa will do for me and that I will continue to forced to drive and pay for a very unsafe vehicle.

17 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Mercedes Benz C250

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

On multiple occurrences the vehicle has started to misfire at random times and speeds ranging from 45-70 mph resulting in "limp mode" or a stalling condition. The check engine light comes on, but will not be on when the vehicle is restarted. The dealership on no occasion has been able to duplicate my concern although others have been in the car to witness. I feel very unsafe driving the vehicle as when it stalls on the highway, I lose steering and brakes as well.
