English translation: hello everyone. Three months ago, I bought a 2012 mercedes-benz C250 in argentina. About a month after I had the car, I hit the road. (here in argentina, it's very common for roads to be single-lane, two-way, so overtaking requires very precise maneuvering. ) when I tried to accelerate my car fully, the acceleration abruptly cut out. I lost power and the yellow check engine light came on. Luckily, I was able to get through. I arrived home, surprised, and I did some research online. I discovered that my vehicle's high-pressure pump was faulty (apparently, it's happened to a lot of people). I hope these complaints reach the mercedes-benz authorities and they take responsibility before this fault causes a fatal accident.

High pressure fuel pump malfunctions yes it is available for inspection the car was put in limb mode when at high speed this could have caused an accident with many drivers do to the loss of power yes it’s been re produced 3 times and others by me no it has not been inspected by a dealer or police or insurance no lamps or symptoms that may be super noticeable, but reduce power and as soon as the high pressure pump fails a check engine light goes off and car has trouble changing gears and accelerating,.
During hard acceleration the high-pressure fuel pump fails. I've never had to replace this part on any other car that I have owned. When I research the part for this car, I reviewed many forums and articles complaining about the failure of the high-pressure fuel pump on the mercedes C250 sport or similar chassis. The vehicle performs normally until there is hard acceleration; then the engine light comes on. This causes the car to lose acceleration power and slows the car down significant and can be dangerous especially if driving on a freeway or highway. The failure of the part has been reported to occur as early as 30k miles.
I bought my 2014 C250 back in 2017 with 17k miles and currently has 58,570 miles. The issue is with fast acceleration from a stop or slow moving. When trying to accelerate to merge with traffic after a few seconds the vehicle goes into limp mode and the check engine light comes on. In limp mode I am only able to accelerate very slowly and this is a major concern for my safety. This has been and ongoing issue over the past few years and I have learned to reset it temporarily (around 10 times) with a youtube fix. I recently found out that there was a recall for the high pressure fuels pump on some C250 models but mine was never included. I also found out that the recall time limit has expired. Please investigate and expand the recall along with the time limit so my vehicle will be included.

I was driving on the highway my car sort of hesitated for a brief second then continued on as if nothing about one mile later my car began to slow down while I was in traffic so ASAP I pulled over at this point I could only go about 40 miles per hour which was very terrifying at that time it came a complete stop. After restarting the car 3-4 times it stayed running I continue home which was about 12 miles from my current location. For the next few days I did not go any where. I then had an appointment to have the 80,000 mile maintenance I mentioned the problem I was then told I need a throttle body replacement costing more than $2000 that I can not afford. At that time I started researching my own problem. My relative who works on 18 wheel truck for a living, . That perhaps it just may need cleaning rather than replacement . Also per my research this happens quite often with this model it also stated that mercedes C250 was the worst mercedes of that year many many owners have had this problem. The yellow esp light come on saying it is off also my hold brake no longer works. It work at my prior dealer appointment it while going to appointment afterwards it did not work since over 9 years seldom used I wasn't concerned thus that is the message that appears when car fails mercedes wants me to pay I believe $2000 problem not needed.
While trying to pass big rig on freeway my car went into lymph mode and stalled causing the car behind me to brake and almost caused an accident. My engine light came on & after getting it checked out I retrieve the following code p0002. After doing some research it appears this is an ongoing issue with this year and model of car.
Intermittently the idle will vibrate the car and acceleration will quit and sputter. Very dangerous in many conditions. Cannot drive car safely.
The components of the engine being the camshaft adjusters, timing guide, timing chain, valves and pistons that all work to deliver power are faulty and have failed literally mid-drive. I was on a busy interstate during rush hour and nearly lost control of the vehicle as it just powered out while driving at 70 mph then forcing a semi to nearly terminate myself and family. The dependability and safety is abruptly ripped out from underneath you. Without even being able to control the vehicle and it coming to an abrupt, unsafe hault. There were no warning signs. The vehicle has since been looked at and informed me that an extended warranty is in place for half of all the parts and labor above. All should be covered and for safety. My nerves are a wreck and without a way to afford an entirely new engine I am left to contend with car payments for an unsafe undrivable vehicle. Since then the dealership recognized my concerns but has since stated that without a modification to the extended warranty or it being made a recall that there is nothing that can be done.
2012 C250 has a known defect with high pressure fuel pump. I personally have had an intermittent issue where vehicle will unpredictably stop working under heavy throttle and enter limp mode as the computer throws a fault code. This results in loss of power after the code making vehicle unpredictable and dangerous in passing situations. It leaves you stranded in the passing lane with oncoming traffic with a vehicle that will not accelerate. I have submitted a request multiple times with Mercedes Benz corporate who has declined my submission. This issue has been ongoing since 2016. They have offered an extended warranty on the vehicle 10 years and 120,000 miles as they know there is a defect. It is dangerous and needs to be covered for all of the affected vehicles.
When accelerating to pass a vehicle the check engine light comes on and there is loss power. When this happens there is a huge potential of a crash. The car has to be shut off to try and reset this. When you are on the frwy this puts life at danger. The code is a p002 and if you research it mercedes is aware of this and is most likely a defective high pressure fuel pump problem that needs replacing but there have been no recalls. I have looked it up on you tube and has been on ongoing issue with no recalls as of yet. I am taking my car to dealer on 11/15/2021 for this issue which they will charge me for even though its a safety issue.
Over the last week I noticed a strong gas smell outside the car as I walk around in the back I check the gas cap and it seals normally and stronger than the smell that comes out of the gas cap.
High pressure fuel pump failure causes unsafe driving conditions.
I was trying to merge onto a freeway from a complete stop and because this freeway has an extremely short on-ramp, you need to get up to a high speed in very little time. As such, I put my car in sport driving mode and accelerated very hard from a complete stop. The car accelerated as normal for a few seconds (I reached approximately 40 to 50 mph), then I felt the car lag and felt a loss of power. The car was in limp mode and I couldn’t accelerate even though I was pressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor. A few seconds after this occurred, I notice that the check engine light turned on. I was able to maintain a speed around 50 mph and got off the freeway. I took my car to both the mercedes dealership and an independent mechanic and both diagnosed a failure of the high pressure fuel pump. I also tried to see if this will happen again and after hard acceleration in regular driving mode, the exact same issues occurred. I have read that there are issues with the high pressure fuel pump with my car model and I ask that you guys please investigate thoroughly to see if a recall would be necessary. Losing power while accelerating is extremely dangerous and a huge safety hazard for all drivers on the road. I could have easily been rear ended by another driver since I couldn’t accelerate to a faster speed. I have not yet replaced the high pressure fuel pump but plan to do so in the next few days. Attached is the diagnostic invoice from the mercedes dealership. As stated on the invoice, please note that my car only has 43,000 miles, which makes the high pressure fuel pump failure very surprising.
When accelerating to pass on highway car suddenly goes into limp mode and losses power this is dangerous at 70 plus miles per hour, ecm code reads p0002 high pressure fuel regulator failure, check engine light will stay on until car has been shut off for longer than ten minutes or if you have a scanner you can erase code and drive the car normal, no passing. This has also happen pulling out from a stop light car has buckle with immediate power loss and will only creak up in limp mode just enough to get you home. I am a well season mechanic with over 20 years experience and this is absolutely dangerous. Please don't wait until someone gets hurt or killed by this which is a known issue going back before 2012. This happened 3 times this ast week and today.
My vehicle losses power and car moved into (limp mode) during the acceleration process for passing, merging onto freeway, coming out of a corner and accelerating. Upon dealer diagnosis p0002 comes up as hpfp as the cause, and I was notified as this being a common issue with the 1. 8l motor in my vehicle. Along with timing chain, and tensioner. I was told these issues while driving are directly related to causes accidents.
I have several saftey recalls and performance recalls. Right now my car is not operable due to these recalls. There is no dealer on my island. This vehicle was purchased brand new from hawaii and shipped to guam. The dealer is requesting us to ship back the vehicle to fix these recalls. Which will cost me about 10,000. 00 for shipping. How do I go about this.
I have been having issues with my vehicle since I purchased it. Starting with me not having enough power from a start, in an attempt to gain enough power to drive at a safe speed from the start, as if the vehicle lags & no matter the gasoline or service, the problem never corrects. When I'm trying to gain speed to maintain with the flow of traffic safely the vehicle lags notably before gaining speed. I'm now having to replace the engine bc the oil coolant hose burst while I was driving on the highway with my child in the car. My check engine light activated but the only notice displayed on the dash was the engine coolant when it was low. When the hose burst while I was driving about 60mph I heard a pop sound under the hood, saw smoke coming from the exhaust, then a clanking noise under the hood that got louder & louder until I was able to pull off of the highway, & then I noticed a very large amount of oil on the ground that left a trail along the ground from my vehicle. That was very dangerous as my vehicle lost power during that incident. I'm told by the mechanic, the engine has to be replaced. This happened without a warning. The Mercedes Benz is supposed to be a safe & reliable luxury vehicle & not a nightmare to have for the owner.
I was on the 99 freeway driving normal speed and hit brakes to take the denair exit. The car sped up! like turbo power! the speedometer was at 90 mph as I flew through a red light at top of the ramp! I had to continue down ramp back on freeway. Pushing and pushing on brakes but nothing happened! next ramp was a bit steeper , so tried again to slow car down! it started to slow and I was able to put car in neutral as it came to stop and I powered the car off. I was approximately 50 miles from home and had to be towed to mercedes of stockton. After their repair department checked my car, they found the brake booster was bad and the turbo pipe hose was torn( due to wear and tear). I had previously (2 months earlier)had my car in for complete check up by the stockton, California dealership and nothing was detected. I feel this a safety issue! I could have been killed! also I believe this to be manufacture default, the cost to fix is $2,400, and I always bring my car in for regular serving. Thank you.
Cold engine vehicle jerking I took it to mercedes of fort myers FL and they told me that they couldn't find the problem and I took it to so many other places and still can't find it I'm just wondering if it could be a recall.
Whenever I want to speed up to pass a vehicle or/and to enjoy a rapid accelarating engine light comes up and it turns into limp mode. This is a serious safety issue.
Power loss when accelerating. I pulled out in traffic and accelerated but. . . I loss power and almost got run over from the oncoming traffic!!! major safety issue. Engine light comes on! this is a horrible issue for anyone that has experienced this problem. I'm hoping there hasn't been any fatalities do to this problem.
When I'm driving the car seems to loose power then it accelerates like it hit turbo power and the engine light comes up. It only has 57000 miles. When I drive it on eco it runs fine and when I change to s start giving problems. The car feels like it stalls, almost as if it's getting no fuel. My mechanic advise me to get in touch with you and see if you can advise me on what to do with it, because it shouldn't be happening. The acceleration issues with this vehicle present an imminent threat to safety of both driver and other vehicles.
When accelerating, the car will just lose all power and stop accelerating. This throws you forward and kills power to the engine preventing you from speeding up. It then goes into limp mode and have to restart the car several times before exiting limp mode. When taking the car to the dealer they say it just detects a fuel error and stops the engine to prevent damage. This happened once on a highway and once on a city street as I was turning.
2014 mercedes c 250 1) smells of strong fuel fumes inside and outside of vehicle 2) stalls when attempting to pass vehicles or accelerate sometimes 3) red painting has clear coat finish peeling 4) car smells like spoiled milk / mildew during summer months when air conditioner is starting.
I bought the certified car at 50k and at 70k miles, right after the warranty ended - check engine light came on and the dealership said it will cost $8k due to camshafts to repair!! they even suggested that I should consider trading the car in! keep in mind I still owe $28k so that option is out! since then the check engine light still on even after I got it repaired at a local/affordable mechanic and it's about 110k mileage and the engine is rattling as it runs. This is my 3rd benz and the first 2 failed due to the transmission failure. I just can't believe these german cars cause so many problems and so costly to repair. What happen to you pay for what you get!!! today, while I was driving the car just slowly stop and the engine cut off! aaa came to check and it's not the battery so will need to get towed. Still owe $10k left- I don't know what to do! no other car to drive .
I have a hum device on my vehicle and it shows that I have a code p0002 fuel volume regulator control circuit range performance. My Mercedes Benz c class 250 has only 44614 miles, when I bought it had 36. + miles, if it wasn't for the divorce that I have on the vehicle I probably won't know until the car brake down. When I'm driving the car seems to loose power then it asselorates like it hit turbo power. My mechanic advise me to get in touch with you and see if you can advise me on what to do with it, because it shouldn't be happening. Thank an advance for your assistance. 40,000 mile vehicle. Prolonged to start with grinding noise from valve cover. Check engine light illuminated. Car was taken to Mercedes Benz of birmingham where it was diagnosed with faulty cam adjusters, timing chain, and timing chain tensioner $4,200 repair estimate. Common problem with mercedes m271 engine. Customer refused repair. Problem occurred while at a stop and in motion.
I was on I-95 and the car just started shaking and would not accelerate, very dangerous. The car also has a dangerous lag when trying to accelerate. I was trying to accelerate making a u turn to on coming traffic and the car wouldn't accelerate nearly causing a catastrophic life threatening accident. I have had my car at the dealership for 3 months trying to fix the problem and to date every time I get it back the same thing happens. My paperwork is with my car that has been at the dealership since for 3 months.
I first noticed this problem about 2 years ago. I was on the highway getting ready to pass a big rig. About 2 seconds after I excelerated I noticed that I lost power to the engine and the check engine light turned on. I kept my foot on the pedal hoping to regain power to pass the big rig. I had no such luck. Shortly after I had vehicles behind me having to slow down because my car wouldn't excelerate to the desired speed. I finally made my way out of the highway to check my engine. I couldn't see a problem but the check engine light stayed on and the loss of power continued. I had to drive my car home slow. The next day I noticed that the check engine light had turned off and I was able to drive the car normal. The loss of power in that situation was scary and could have gone a lot worse. I know I am not the only one who has experienced this problem. I have seen blogs and youtube videos who describe similar experiences. Please help find a solution before someone is seriously hurt do to this problem.
The cel came on and the engine was having a rough start . I took it to the repair shop and after using the star diagnostic system the diagnoses was camshaft adjusters in failure. The remedy replace the camshaft adjusters. Cost $3500. 00.
Airbag recall notice March 2017, still no resolution. Seats advertised as leather, not leather intermittent gas smell fills cabin of vehicle causing respiratory issues.
When driving uphill at 30mph the car slows down and takes a second to accelerate. When I press on the gas I have to floor it to get the car going faster.
I leased my vehicle in November of 2013. The vehicle is driven to and from work and in the beginning I never had a problem. A few months ago I was driving down the freeway at 70 mph and all of a sudden the check engine light came on and the vehicle lost power. The vehile would violently shake whe trying to accelerate. I manged to continue to drive for about another 30 minutes and made it to the dealer and turned the car off but once they restarted it the car ran fine. Since then then car will randomly loose power all of a sudden it has been to the dealer 3 or 4 times and they keep it for a week and then give it back and say that they were not able to recreate the issue. I have almost been hit once so far and when I let my brother use the car he was almost hit while making a left turn because of the random power loss. I have contacted mbusa and spoke with someone named juan. I continued to call him ans take the vehicle to the dealer everytime it happened expressing my concerns abiut the car as well as safety. Juan intiallly acted as if he cared but that was shor lived as he finally called back on 10/2/15 and explained that his managers and mbusa were unable to create the issue at the dealer level so there is nothing they will do at this point. . . At that point I realized that there is nothing that mbusa will do for me and that I will continue to forced to drive and pay for a very unsafe vehicle.
Car showed signs well before vehicle started showing codes. When I would start it up the vehicle sounded like a rocket ship was about to take off and shortly after the noise would go away. With no codes mercedes tried replacing the some ac parts but it didn't help. I just assumed the noise was harmless if mercedes says nothing's wrong than it must be okay. Then one day I went to turn the car on and it hesitated making all kinds of noise but always started after holding the key in the on position and pushing forward. Car seems to work well once started but I am using more gas which might be related. The check engine light came on afterwards and would turn itself off. After bringing it to mercedes they state I need a new intake variable camshaft adjustor and it's a good idea to replace the exhaust as well since there's no charge for additional labor since the exhaust adjustor is going to be accessible. My car is at 68,000 miles and well kept this is a mechanical issue with mercedes in multiple models and years.
