My car is a 2015 C300 class mercedes-benz, as I was driving, the car suddenly and without warning began to vibrate and shake violently and immediately lost power. Fortunately I was off the freeway, a serious accident could have resulted. I took it to the the local mb dealership and they told me that the car failed a compression test in the #1 cylinder and that the engine would have to be replaced at almost $17000. Of course, this was beyond warranty, mercedes know it’s a defective product, they refused to act responsibly. This cracked piston which is a design flaw by mercedes needs to be recalled, a lot of people are reporting the same issue.
The contact owns a 2015 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that approximately every 6-8 months, the vehicle sputtered while driving at various speeds or while idling. The contact stated that a month after the first failure had occurred, the front end of the vehicle lowered as if the shocks or hydraulic system had failed. The failure had occurred 3 times within a year and a half. The contact stated that after the second failure, the entire vehicle lowered several inches, and at the third failure, only the front end of the vehicle was lowered. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the hydraulic pump and the connections from the shocks to the hydraulic pump had failed. The failure reoccurred approximately 8 months later. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who diagnosed the same failure and completed the same repairs. The failure reoccurred approximately 8 months later, and the vehicle was returned to the dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer provided the contact with a loaner while attempting to have the contact trade the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000. The VIN was not available.

My son's car was blowing white smoke out of the exhaust and had a sweet burning smell and the check engine light came on. The crankcase vent valve is needing to be replaced on this 2015 C300 Mercedes Benz and many owners of this same type of car (different year) are posting about it. Owners of these types of cars are saying that replacement is happening more than once! that it's a common defect of these cars. My son has less than 100,000 miles (61,000 if that) and this shouldn't be happening. And, it's time someone does something to protect the consumer. Mercedes-benz dealers are taking advantage of consumers and charging ridiculous prices to replace this part, but the part shouldn't be breaking. It's a safety factor in that it can affect driving, there's risk of blowing valves/valve cap and engines, including loss of the vehicle and nowadays no one can afford to buy a new car or even a used one! consumers buy what they think is a reliable vehicle but mercedes isn't taking care of their customers. Mercedes-benz should be forced to do a recall and replace these faulty parts. . Read more...
Check engine light came on and strong fuel smell. Crankcase ventilation malfunction code was verified by dealer.
When driving I accelerated and then the engine light turned on. After that the car was jolty and turned off completely when stopped. Had to force a restart at the light. Code that came back was p052e. This is a major and common issue with these cars. Part is 400+ dollars. Labor is much more since this is a 6 hour job. The work to replace this part is incredibly intensive that makes it impossible for regular car owners to change. Mercedes refuses to recognizes this as a common issue. But the truth is they designed a faulty system that they claim to have updated a handful of times now.
My check engine light was on when I was driving on the highway. I was terrified that something was very wrong. Right after, I took the car to the dealer and was told that the valve for the crankcase ventilation. The actuator was blocked. I was also told that this is not caused by something I did. It's the design of the car that caused the problem.
P052e71 positive crankcase ventilation regularly valve issue. This is a common issue mercedes is aware of with their vehicles. I was quoted 1600+ for a repair for something has been known about for over 7 years to be an issue with the car class. I was also told by the shop that this a very common issue and odds are I would need the same service within a year or two.
Driving the 2015 C300 with approx. 69k in miles down the highway and heard a pop and the check engine light came on. The next day there was a rough idle and clanging at low speeds. Took to dealership and they quoted me $15k in repairs for a new engine. Mb tech said the cylinder #1 is out of spec. , and there is scoring on cylinder wall caused by the piston being off center and riding the cylinder wall. After doing research this is a common problem with the m274 engine. How has this not been recalled and taken care of by mercedes?? at this point I am 'forced' to either come up with $15k for the repairs, or go to mb dealership and try to get into a new car. . . Which I am over $12k upside down on I might add.
Oil separator failure. This a common design fault as documented by multiple complaints on the internet. This is another Mercedes Benz emission design flaw causing emission failures. This is very cheap part but extremely expensive to replace. Mercedes collects over $1200 per labor repair for each. This is an emissions pollution and safety issue that can be solved. Please force a recall. Engine severely smokes/stalls leaving people stranded on highways. When stuck, coolant is sucked into the engine mixing with the oil. No warning. The car.
These cars have a known wrist pin failure, mercedes refuses to cover the cost of repairs as its not a recall. My vehicle is the specific model and year this is known for, and my car is making these piston slapping sounds, worse everyday. Worse on deceleration, goes away when warmed up, just like the reports. I am afraid I'll lose power while driving and hurt myself or others.
The problem is actually a manufacturing defect in the wrist pins. The defective parts are in engines made before April 20, 2015 which is mine. If left unrepaired, it causes premature wear in the cylinder walls. The issue on my car been confirmed by mb dealer.
It cuts out randomly while pressing the gas pedel to get out of the way of traffic and cuts out and stalls ive had it looked at and they say theres no check engine codes and that they cant make it do it. Theres many of people with the same issue online and the dealers wont help them either.
The dealership is staying I have an issue with the crankcase valve vent and this seems to be a known issue effecting years 2015-2018.
2015 mercedes C300 crankcase ventilation regularly valve is garbage, have to spend around $2k to get it replaced. Very common issue for this model.
I have an emissions related check engine light (p052e71) relating to the evaporative/crankcase ventilation system. I think this should be a recalled/warrantee item on the 10 year/100,000 miles federally mandated guarantee. Please advise. . .
Car is at 60,000 miles and code for positive crankcase ventilation appeared. Why does this happen to a trouble free car after warranty runs out?????????? seems like hundreds of complaints all over the internet and dealer charging big money to fix their design flaws.
Vehicle experienced loss of power and rough running when check engine light came on. Mercedes dealer reported one of the pistons cracked resulting in catastrophic engine failure with just shy of 61,880 miles on it.
I have 2015 C300 model, total milage on the car is 30k. Dashboard is showing the check engine light and when I take to dealership for diagnostic, the code is p052e which is a problem with crankcase vent. Dealership tech had mentioned that this seems to be known issue effecting years 2015-2018. When I did search, he is right; many mb owners are facing same issue which is a malfunction during assembly/manufacturing. Mb should be responsible for part replacement and labor. Please investigate and ask mb to run recall campaign. Thank you.
My vehicle is a 2015 C300 awd. One day I was driving on the highway and noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust. The check engine light came on shortly after as I pulled over. Being that I was less than a mile from my house, I decided to go park the vehicle. I noticed that it was losing power and had problems going above 45mph. Since my vehicle had 99k miles. I took it to my indy mechanic that has worked on the vehicle since it has been out of warranty. When he diagnosed the vehicle, 48 codes came up. He suggested we change the spark plugs and coils, which we did. Didn't fix the problem. Then he suggested we change fuel injector 1, which we did. That didn't solve the problem. I decided to take it to the local mercedes dealership where they did another diagnostic test. And like many others here, cracked piston/cylinder 1 dead. I'm looking at $18,000 in repairs. I told them no thank you. The car is now sitting in my garage. I really hope mercedes makes this right with its customers. There is no reason why this many people should be having this exact same problem. Vehicle symptoms: white smoke out of exhaust check engine light on cylinder 1 misfire burning oil causing loss of power radio randomly shuts off & went into anti theft mode.
Cel light- with code p052e positive crankcase ventilation regularly valve.
Crankcase ventilation regulator valve.
Mercedes crankcase ventilation valve has failed, error p052e71. Found that this is happening to thousands of other mercedes C300, and even after it is fixed it happens again. Reporting this so hopefully it can be resolved with a recall.
The valve for crankcase ventilation has a malfunction. The actuator is blocked. Seems like its a common problem for all mercedes C300 ~2015 models. The part should be recalled.
Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2015 Mercedes Benz C300 diagnosis code p052e pcv regulator valve replacement/crankcase replacement. The code keeps coming back with check engine light on dashboard. To replace part, the engine has to be taken down since the crankcase is inside the engine. This is a malfunction during assembly/manufacturing, it is impossible to damage part while under usage. Mercedes benz should be held responsible for part replacement and labor. This is a common defect and should be recalled.
Common problem mercedes hasn’t addressed from the factory crankcase breather element at less than 50,000 miles and the smell pf gas that comes in to the cabin is horrible.
Crankcase ventilation valve malfunctioning second time with car. Creating trapped exhaust in crankcase.
Cracked cylinder #1. Causes rough idle, loss of power and lots of white smoke out the tail pipe. This is dangerous for anyone behind the car trying to see through the smoke then loosing power and other vehicles almost hitting me. Mercedes know they are defective but because of the large cost associated with repairing them they will not fix.
This occurred after an oil change. It is the p052e code crankcase ventilation code.
Cylinder #1 losing compression. Onset acute after exiting freeway. Car lost power. Engine warning light turned on. Independent repair shop advised compression problem in cylinder #1. Dealer then inspected and advised there was compression loss in cylinder #1. Dealer recommended engine replacement (not repair). The car only has around 46,000 miles and is a 2015 model.
The crankcase ventilation valve has gone out on my car. This is a continual problem with these vehicles at low mileage. Mercedes benz should recall the part for repair as they stated it could damage the engine.
My vehicle's positive crankcase ventilation valve needs replacing. After researching this issue for a week im learning that this is a very common issue with my vehicle's make model and year and is likely to occur more than one time in the vehiles lifetime. The problem has been confirmed by an independent service center I was made aware of the issue by my vehicle's check engin light.
The wrist pin is defective in early engines during manufacturing. It is not safe to operate the vehicle because at any time without any warning this can cause fatal damage to the engine - piston crack resulting in total loss of control even at high speeds on the highway. Numerous complaints were filed on NHTSA regarding cracked pistons most likely related to this wrist pin manufacture defect. The problem is acknowledged by m-benz (NHTSA id number: 10058545), and starting around April 20 2015 m-benz started to install modified wrist pins to prevent future failures, but they did not address existing faulty wrist pins. The vehicle was always serviced at the official mbenz dealer service and was under comprehensive inspection multiple times but the issue was never acknowledged by the service technicians during the warranty period even though the issue existed since manufacturing and instruction of how to diagnose was distributed between service technicians via manufacturer communication number: li03-10p060916 in 2015. When the m-benz delear service technician finally confirmed the issue, the vehicle was already out of warranty and there is a hefty price to a customer to fix this manufacturer defect that should not have been there in the first place. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other easily detectable symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The issue can be diagnosed under very special conditions described in manufacturer communication number: li03-10p060916 for most drivers, it's hard to diagnose that something is wrong and easily mistaken for normal operation noise of the engine.
The contact owned a 2015 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that while idle, the engine would vibrate with an abnormal sputtering sound coming from the engine. As the failure persisted, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to a dealer and the spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was returned to the dealer and a diagnostic test was performed, and it was discovered that an engine cylinder had blown. The vehicle was diagnosed with engine failure and the contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The contact then spoke to an independent mechanic who informed her that the failure was a common failure for her model vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a case was filed. An email was sent to the manufacturer and the contact was informed that no further assistance could be offered. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,900.
I keep getting a litany of warnings on the dash.
