When I was driving down the road my car got a message on the dash that said power steering malfunction see owners manual. My steering wheel got locked up and tight it was hard to keep control of my car at 60 miles per hour. When I took it to the repair shop, I asked about the repair and if my VIN had a recall and when I looked up the production date of my car it's 2 numbers off the VIN numbers that were recalled for your. Same issue with hat happened in 2016 when my car was produced in 2015, it says the same thing. It will cost like 5k to fix the problem due to the fact that its a sensor, and when I looked up the recall it was the same sensor that the recall was on with my VIN only being 2 numbers off I find it odd that my car is not affected by this bc its the same problem of the recall the part of that controls the power steering in the car.

The small plastic located inside the sliding panoramic sunroof explode and the panasonic sunroof can be open/close or up/down normally but when I hit close it will stop where the broken pieces was and the roof will automatically move back to the fully open position dealer said need the rail replaced -2057800175 -2057800275 motor is broken, need to be replaced , he said after saying the roof can go forward and backward, up and down but can’t close completely. I was gullible to believe what the technician and sale guy said. Technically technician can check the voltage and say it for sure if it is broken. Also, a technician already knew that the sliding rail is damaged. He jumped to the conclusion that motor is broken because of sunburn. I have asked my nephew what he would do in this situation. He innocently said he would replace new sliding rails first and try to run if the “alleged motor “ is really broken. If it is broken, he can just switch to a new motor before testing to confirm it working. He wouldn’t decide to buy a new motor that cost $1,400 extra while the old one might be working properly. Anyway, labor with rails and “motor” cost $3500. Then later I learn I’m not alone. How many affected from this defective parts that mercedes doesn’t sell it separately. Owner must buy 2 set of rails- a left set and a right set. Cost $1100 total. So since the number of affected are pretty high, a few factory in china and turkey decides to produce these little and sell it online for $15-92, glue and lubricants included. -number of owners struggling to find parts https://mbworld. 15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2021

Mercedes-benz comes with eco start/stop feature. This feature automatically activates when you start the vehicle and have your seat belt fastened with the door closed. When this function is activated, your vehicle’s engine will shut off when you are at a complete stop, like at a stoplight or in standstill traffic. Once it’s time to start moving again, the vehicle’s engine will automatically restart as soon as you lift your foot off the brake. Randomly experiencing an issue with this feature, vehicle will not restart or it will shutdown in the middle of the road, on the busy road or freeway, it is very unsafe or dangerous. In last two years, we experienced this issue for at least 10 times, at least 5 times vehicle was towed to Mercedes Benz service center in pleasanton, CA. They replaced the battery, starter, relay but issue still exists and service center also do not have any clue on how to resolve this issue. Reported this issue to Mercedes Benz customer support but response has not been favorable. I am not the only one facing this issue, several people reported this issue on online blogs, online channels and discussion boards. Mercedes benz is ignoring the issue and not serious on addressing it. I request ntsb to investigate this issue, it is risky and dangerous. I personally had couple of close calls with other vehicles rear ending, and I am sure others must have found in this situation. Appreciate your help. 23 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2016

On oct 14th at night car was driven in heavy rain off interstate i5 off ramp to exit interstate. There were cars both in front and behind us exiting and upon driving further noticed there was standing water. Other cars were making it through slowly, there was no room to turn around. This car almost made it to the end of the offramp and then stallled. Other cars were forced to go around. Tried to restart the car to no avail. Called for roadside assistance. Noticed smoke coming from the hood and then all lighting went dark in car. Then saw flames from the hood. Quickly ran through water to escape and flames got several feet high. Passer by's had called 911 as entire front of car was engulfed in flames. Fire department had to cut open car hood to put out fire. Car damaged beyond repair and they too were incredulous that a new car would be engulfed in flames after stalling in the rain.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2016

After stopping and waiting at a traffic light for 15-30 seconds, I had my feet on the brakes and left turn indicator on. The "hold" option to lock my brakes was not engaged. The car was stationary. Without warning, the car shifted into drive and jolted forward into the vehicle ahead of me at the light. (I was the second car in line, and I stopped about a half car length behind the other driver. ) the acceleration was not a typical, gradual movement associated with what happens when I release my foot from the brake to drive. It was a sudden and jarring jump regardless of the fact that my foot never left the brake. I tried to press the brakes multiple times to stop the forward movement, but my car hit the vehicle in front of me twice. The steel bumper of the other vehicle was not damaged. The front area of my hood (emblem and grill) were crushed. I reported earlier electronic issues to my local dealership as notable oddities, but none made me this concerned about safety of others, my passengers, and myself. As recently as a week earlier, my rear-view camera froze and locked as I was reversing into my garage, so had I trusted the screen in my car, I would have reversed another 5-10 feet into my garage. I could not unfreeze it without putting the car back into drive and restarting my car. Months earlier, the sensor on my side mirrors started to go off without any other source of danger or collision on vacant streets. The air pressure alert warned that my tires were becoming dangerously flat; however, en route to the gas station, the pressure monitor noted that all tires were now returning to normal pressure levels and no inflation was needed. There have been many peculiar events with this new C300 in recent months, but my primary concern as a caregiver is the sudden acceleration from a stopped position--or from any position--without my direction or intent.
