general problems of the 2017 Mercedes Benz C300 - part 1

Check engine light for p052e which has been coming and going off for years now. Now the check engine light is there permanently. I spoke to Mercedes Benz customer service and requested for them to fix the problem now that the light is on permanently but they refuse to fix it because the car has 222,000 miles on it. This should be a recall from the manufacturer not an extended warranty coverage. The mercedes dealer in valencia California told me they now only do a software update and put a plug cap on the sensor and want to charge me $850 even though this should be a recall.

The vehicle was towed to a dealer and diagnosed with a fuel line leak that caused the engine harness to come apart. The leaking fuel hose from the high-pressure fuel pump caused damage to the high-pressure pump, engine harness, vacuum transducer, and coolant feed line from the thermostat to the firewall. The following components needed replacement: high-pressure fuel pump, rubber fuel hose, engine harness, pressure transducer, and intake manifold. The vehicle was repaired. Five months later, the contact experienced another failure she believes was associated with the engine fire. While parked and attempting to start the vehicle, it did not start. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and diagnosed with a faulty starter that needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,422.

I am reporting a serious vehicle safety hazard caused by improper and unsafe repair work performed by USA platinum motor, located at 1221 California lane #126b, arlington, TX. I brought my 2017 mercedes-benz C300 in for a cold start rattle with no warning lights or prior issues. The shop diagnosed a loose timing chain and I authorized the repair. After the repairs, the vehicle was returned with critical safety defects, including a loose fuel pump, unsecured fuel line, missing bolts, and improperly reassembled engine components. Shortly after pickup, the car experienced loss of acceleration on the interstate, a strong odor of fuel, and a sudden loss of power, creating a dangerous and life-threatening situation. The vehicle had to be towed back to the shop. The manager, who is not a certified mechanic, admitted he personally “fixed” the issue by tightening the fuel pump himself. A mercedes-benz diagnostic inspection later confirmed multiple severe assembly errors, including missing fasteners, unsecured oil cooler, disconnected vent lines, and other safety-related defects in the fuel and cooling systems. These unsafe and negligent repairs created an extreme fire hazard, engine instability, and risk of sudden failure while driving. I am requesting a formal NHTSA investigation into this matter to ensure vehicle safety compliance and to prevent similar incidents affecting other consumers.

My whole entire car smells like gas. I cannot drive this car around because I will pass out and it is a safety hazard. There is a recall for this exact same issue, just not for my VIN number. I would like to get this done for my car, please.

Keep getting a code p052e! changed the oil and code went away for a few days then came back. Looked into getting it fixed and it seems like mercedes has known about this issue and hasn’t called for a recall on this piece of equipment! very costly to fix and says it needs to be replaced every 30k to 50k miles! at around 1k to 3k to fix everytime that’s something they should recall.

Cracked piston in cylinder #1. After doing research this is a common problem in the m274 engine from 2015-2018 which mercedes is aware of but does nothing. Mercedes need to be held responsible and a recall issued. This isn't a 2 or 3 thousand dollar repair!! this repair is 6 figures!!! please hold them acountable!!! thx.

This is my send time writing in. Mercedes used the wrong wrist pins for the pistons leading to my wife getting a cracked piston on freeway in phx. If you look up cylinder 1 issues on this model there is a lot of people who have encountered this. Why this hasn't been recalled and sticking consumers with a10k plus repair is beyond me. If you use the wrong parts you should be responsible for the repair!!!.

Check engine light on on 2017 mercedes C300 4 matic. Car has 52,000 miles on it. The code p052e71 was diagnosed by mercedes mechanic as the valve for the crankcase ventilation. The actuator was blocked. Mechanic said part (crankcase ventilation hose) is not available and this problem happens to all 2015-2017 c 300 models usually around 50,000 miles. When air conditioning or heat is run it causes an odor of burning fuel or oil in the cabin. Mercedes said part is not in stock and they have no eta on when it will be available. Vehicle is unable to pass vehicle emissions test.

P052e. . Pvc ventilation crank shaft valve sensor, too many people all reporting the same expensive item/ labor intensive work by a dealership just after the warranty expires. Help. There are thousands of us with the exact same code and problem!! order a recall investigation!! pleas?!?!!!.

I took my vehicle to the mechanic due to the check engine light been on. The diagnostic came back to be that "the valve for crankcase ventilation has a malfunction. The actuator is blocked. " as per mechanic this has to be replace but cost around $ 2,000 plus.

Car check engine light came on with only 62,000 miles. Diagnosed as code p052e, the issue is the positive crankcase ventilation valve being faulty. Regular oil changes and maintenance was done. I see multiple complaints with this issue, why is this not recalled? it is very expensive to have fixed.

P520e code which is caused by a crankcase ventilation issue. The fix costs upwards of $2000. It seems to be a common issue with mercedes vehicles with 4 cylinder turbos and should be a recall on this system.

My engine light keeps coming on and off on my 2017 C300 4matic coupe. I got the problem diagnosed in March 2023. Benz said I had a faulty solenoid valve and that I would need to replace the crank case ventilation assembly. That is $3000. My friend has a C300 sedan and they replaced his under the extended warranty that came out on August 2023 for the crankcase. I have the same exact issue but they said my VIN doesn’t populate so they cannot do anything. This is the 2nd faulty crank case in my car, it was replaced by warranty in 2019. I don’t drive that much I have 47k miles on the car. They refuse to cover the faulty part.

Code p052e costing me over $2500 to repair. I’m not the only one dealing with this problem and my car only has 58k miles and it’s a 2017. Should be recalled considering the part being defective.

I recently had to repair a part of my engine with the code p052e. It specifically was "the valve for crankcase ventilation. It stated it was malfunctioned and that the actuator is blocked. It could have caused my engine to fail and my car to stop at any moment putting myself and others at risk. There is a large amounts of consumers with the same vehicle that complained about the same issue. It was inspected by the Mercedes Benz dealership. The only warning was that my check engine light was on.

In my family we have 2 Mercedes Benz cars one 2017glc300 and other 2017 C300 4matic and both of the cars have the same issues. Check engine with code p052e. And after talking to friends and mechanics it appears that this issues to be almost on every mercedes car of this engine since both of the cars that are in my family have the same engine components. I request that it should be recall so Mercedes Benz will repair those issues under warranty. Thank you.

My car suddenly turned off at a stop sign. After I restarted it, it turned back on and my engine light turned on. I called the dealership and after inspection I was told that the valve for my crankcase was malfunctioning. The total cost, including both parts and labor are $1775. I have seen many complaints regarding this issue with the same vehicle. It is apparent that a recall should’ve been issued for this months ago. It is truly a safety issue when the car turns off at a stop sign or a ramp. I could’ve been hit while my car was stalling on a ramp exiting major highway. I implore you to rectify this issue immediately before someone gets hurt.
