Brake Fluid Leak Problems of Mercedes Benz C300

Mercedes Benz C300 owners have reported 3 problems related to brake fluid leak (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2010 Mercedes Benz C300

Failure Date: 06/19/2018

I brought my vehicle to Mercedes Benz for a rear tail light recall. When I picked up my vehicle the brake pedal went to the floor. Note: this was not happening prior to me dropping my vehicle off to the dealer. I informed the service manager and he drove my vehicle back to the mechanic. The service manager had me go to where my vehicle was on a lift. The service manager told me that the rear brake line on my vehicle rusted (metal line) out causing the brake fluid to leak out. Also, the passenger front seat sensor went and needed to be replaced. The seat would not move back or forward. In a previous complaint I filed today, I inadvertently put the wrong VIN number in my complaint. The correct VIN number is wddgf8bb3af406837. The previous complaint number is 11102627. My apologies.

2 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2018 Mercedes Benz C300

Failure Date: 06/19/2018

I brought my vehicle to Mercedes Benz for a rear tail light recall. When I picked up my vehicle the brake pedal went to the floor. Note: this was not happening prior to me dropping the car off to the dealer. The service manager drove my car back to the mechanic. I was then told that, ironically, the brake line rusted (metal line) out causing the brake fluid to leak out. Also, passenger front seat sensor went. Seat will not move back or forward.

3 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2008 Mercedes Benz C300

Failure Date: 01/19/2018

This issue surfaced while driving and brakes where applied. Lost breaking due to corrosion perforating rear brake lines causing break fluid to leak and total loss of breaking. This is a 2008 c class 4matic sport where both rear brake lines feeding from the abs module to the rear calipers were totally rusted and caused the car to loose all braking. Brake lines rusted mostly where they are attached to the frame under the car due to sub par quality of the metal used and moisture trapped between the bracket and the brake line. I own two other cars that are 22 years old with no rust on the brake lines and driven in the same exact environment as this mb C300. Repair cost at an independent shop ran $1600.
